Hello Guys, It's Cláudio here..

We began the process on January 20, 2017. We received NOA1 on February 9, 2017. Since then, the status of our case has been "Case was received". We have not yet received NOA2. Today is the 111th day of waiting, me and my fiance Bill are starting to get anxious. We hired an attorney in New York to assist us in this process, which gave us all guidance as to what should be done to avoid solicitation for further evidence. We did everything correctly, but our case has not yet had a position. The average waiting time has been 95 days. We are beginning to wonder why ours has taken 111 days already. Does it have anything to do with our age difference our for we be a gay couple?

We can't wait for finally be together.. <3 hehe

<3 hehe

It's still within processing time, so there's nothing to worry about... yet. If it's past five or six months then it's time to contact uscis and the us citizens congress person.

i highly doubt the age difference plays any part in the waiting, they're only interested in you two meeting within the two year time frame and that all paperwork is there. A lawyer hardly makes it easier or better of a process.

just hang in there, all through the immigration process you'll need a lot of patience.

best of luck

At this stage, your case is only checked for formalitites - so your age difference or other personal factors should not matter. The actual processing of the case at USCIS is usually very short, so the extended wait just means that your case is at the bottom of a pile somewhere. Nothing to be done or worry about until the 5 month processing window is passed. Good luck!

If it isn't difficult, it isn't worth it.

Hi Bill and Claudio! My case status still said "received"  when I got my NOA2. I already have a case number and the petition was already transferred to the US Embassy in Manila and it still says "received"! Lol I would advise you to check your mail, as most of the January filers got their NOA2 without the website updating our statuses. And no, it's not because of your age difference. Hang in there pal!
