Got to love it. Chelsea Clinton launched an attack on Duterte about his soldier rape comment.

He replied back words to the effect of " you did not have any outrage when your father was doing it in the oval office.

Sorry I can't link to it on mobile right now.

Never knew that Monica claimed she didn't have a consensual relationship in the oval office. Hrmmm...

I'm sure as she was constantly belittled as a child due to being the daughter of a President, and a teen at the time when the scandal broke, Chelsea would have been upset at what her father put her family through. But please do tell us how soldiers committing rape is acceptable in society...?

That's some incredible erratic driving this evening..

I am pretty sure that using the power of the presidency to influence an intern many years your junior is hardly consual.  Of course then there are the sexual assault cases , proven

Monica never claimed she was raped, never claimed it wasn't consensual, never claimed she was influenced, and wasn't underage at the time. It takes two to tango. Plenty of younger ladies carry on affairs with older powerful men, plenty of younger ladies are also raped by older powerful men. There's a big difference between the two. As for the 'sex assault' cases accusations, it was never proven, it's not what the subject matter was talking about, and again Chelsea was a child at the time so with no control over her father's actions... I am only left to conclude we are left with an angry dude ranting that someone didn't like his rape comments for no reason.

Of course it was never proven because it was all settled out of court which is pretty much the same thing as guilty.

So by your logic, just to clarify, whenever a person settles out of court that party is guilty?

See Trump settles cases because they aren't worth the time and money to fight. Bill Clinton settles cases because he was guilty. You can argue all day long and for some people those are the facts.

Gotta love when you see the MOR/MDRs defending dictators. Too bad neither Castro nor Chavez lived to see this magic change of heart in American democracy!

He is not a dictator at all. He is a strong leader that the Philippines needed. Sorry you have never seen the Philippines or been in the city that he was mayor. My wife and I are glad he is president and I can't wait to go back this year.

"Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passion, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence." I think the founders would be truly scratching their heads at our current society and wondering at what point it all went so very wrong..

I have mixed feelings on Duterte. I was in the Philippines right before the election and everyone seemed to love him. Cyberfx is correct that you don't truly understand the situation in the Philippines unless you have seen it with your own two eyes. You think the homeless problem here in the U.S. in some major cities is bad? Go to Manila and come back and tell me how bad people have it here. It was a common occurrence for my wife and I to see homeless children on their own probably younger than 10 years old begging on the street. It is heart breaking. The other thing you notice is security guards most of the time armed with automatic weapons at places like the malls and even some hotels. This is not just in Manila but all over the Philippines. My wife's family was fortunate enough to live in a gated community with armed security guards patrolling 24/7. A modest 2 bedroom townhouse by our standards but a decent place to live by Filipino standards.

People support Duterte because they are sick of living in poverty and want to put an end to the violent crime. I don't agree with all of Duterte's methods but he is the only politician who is actually serious about addressing the problems of poverty and crime. I strongly disagree with some of his methods (and my wife and I go back and forth about this all the time) but I wouldn't go as far as calling him a dictator.
