Hello,

I need help. I am planning to send a balikbayan box to my family, but I don't know which cargo company I should go for and if there are any reliable door to door cargo shipping companies here in Florida? TIA!

The only experience I have with overseas shipping is to and From the U.K. Fedex have always been reliable

The best way to find out is to go to a Filipino store near you and seeing whats around you.

Go to your nearest Asian stores, find out which BB service they use.

Big ones are Forex, LBC.   UMAC is good, used them for years, but they are not available everywhere.... darn.

You didn't say what city you are trying to locate a shipper in but if you do a google search for LBC in or near your city you should find an office. Inquire there.  LBC is one shipper a lot of people use and as I understand they do a good job. Like what others have stated, find an Asian or Filipino store and they can help you. We use one here in Raleigh and they charge $5.00 for the and $100 to ship any weight. Takes a few months to arrive.

I'm a little scared of LBC because of their reviews! I found xyz padala and just like UMAC it's not available in my area :(

I live in boynton beach and we are 1 hour away from Miami, 3 hours away from Orlando and 4 hours away from Jacksonville. There's none in Miami/Orlando it's always in Jacksonville, we might have to drive over there because that's where LBC is located. How long is a 'few months'? 2-3 months?

We use LBC now, only BB service we found around Knoxville.   Zero issues with them to date.  Last boxes arrived within a few months.

I think that is the next best thing. Will call them up and try, but I'm trying to talk to some filipino stores outside the city I am in and hopefully they tell me what they use for their BB service!

I had the same fears, probably read the same reviews.   Everyone complains loudly when something doesn't go right, few say anything when it does.

I shipped one box with LBC last fall, it took almost 3 months to arrive, but that is Christmas time so I expected more delay.  It arrived in perfect condition.  And no I did not go on any website to post my happy experience.  ;)

I have two boxes in motion right now, both are on a ship, after a stop in Hong Kong they are scheduled to arrive here, in Manila, the middle of this month.  I don't expect to see them until the end of June.. time to clear customs.

I will give you an update.
