was it easy to get to the supervisor? I'm kinda planning on calling and asking to talk to one too but maybe I still should wait since my scan date is May 19 th? Not sure what to do.

Once you are passed 8 weeks. you can try calling more and eventually ask for supervisor if there is some issue or if you want more info...

If everything is going well and not passed 8 weeks then there is no need to check with supervisor. if it is under review or it is passed 8-9 weeks then definitely give a try. :)

That was @ynes . Their scan date was 4/10/2017.. Ynes realized that their police report was about to expire so they sent in another one before the NVC reviewed their file.. The NVC confirmed receipt of the replacement report on 5/15/2017.. But it's as if they never had a 2nd scan date because they got their CC within 9 weeks of 4/10/2017...  Telling you this because I don't want you to have false encouragement.. Hopefully you'll have yours in 2 weeks time.. 8 weeks is pretty much the earliest you can get a CC with 9 weeks still being the average..

okay, that kinda makes sense, I thought Ynes actually got a checklist for the police certificate. A little bit off topic, but here it goes: I really don't want to get a cc sooner than 4 weeks because I am in the middle of registering my marriage here in Romania and it's a lengthy process (takes around 40 days or so) and I need the romanian marriage certificate in order to renew my passport (it expires next year and I just don't want to care about it for the next 5 years), BUT ALSO I want to get a cc ASAP because I need to get it off my mind, it's very stressful for me. (as it is for ALL of us)

Anyway, I'll settle for what I can get first, I'm sure the other will follow sometime soon :)

well you can calculate best case, worst case in terms of timing.. imagine you get a CC in 8 weeks.. then you have your interview 6 weeks later.. That's 8 weeks (56 days).. worst case 11 weeks for a CC, plus 9 weeks to get an interview ... That would be 14 weeks.. (98 days)...

I have a question about expediting. I hadn't previously thought to take this route but a friend of mine who is married to a USC and went through the spouse visa process suggested I apply for it based on my situation which is this: I have a university fellowship beginning in the fall that requires that I am in residence. I applied for campus housing for couples knowing that my husband will be here at some point within the academic year. However, I was told that if he is not physically here within 15 days of my move in date (September 15th) then I will likely lose my housing. I am in the California bay area where affordable housing is a serious problem and it would definitely be a financial hardship for me to get housing that is not subsidized by the university. There is no  possibility of getting singles housing and moving to couples housing once he is here as all these assignments happen at the start of the academic year. Firstly, does this sound compelling enough? Secondly, if I ask for an expedite and they deny it does it harm my case at all? In other words, do I stand to lose anything by trying an expedite request? And...how does one do this? Links to relevant pages would be appreciated. Thanks!

Called NVC last week and explained my case to a supervisor and she agreed to put a note for a review and she told that it will be done next week in a couple of days and you will see a case complete.

Now called again today and spoke with a supervisor but she told that she can see a note for a supervisor review but it can take up to 6 weeks and cannot be done in 2 days. So anyone can help me to deal with supervisor review? How can we make it fast? Please let me know if anyone faced similar review and was able to get it done quickly.

Some background my scan date: 04th April. Got a checklist for proof of Canadian residency PR card which was mailed June 13th and then asked for expedite but they rejected saying we need to give a fair chance to all but we don’t know what fair chance and to whom as we already waited for 10 weeks and got this checklist. And last week asked a supervisor to help and she put a note for review.

I am in the same boat got checklist about birth certificate but I think they make a mistake because birth certificate meets all the requirements in the reciprocity page anyways lawyer sent a letter explaining that is the only birth certificate we can provide so NVC received mail on June 9, also call on june 16 and my case now is under supervisor review also last Friday ask for expedite case but they denied

"Thank you for your patience. We sent your request to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in BOLIVIA. However, they cannot expedite this case. To be fair to all applicants, the Department of State schedules immigrant visa interviews in the order that the cases complete processing at the NVC.

We will continue to work with you on this case. After we receive the required fees and review the documents, we will schedule a visa interview appointment."

how do you ask to speak with a supervisor? every time that I call I ask to talk with supervisor without luck :( same answer it takes up to 6 weeks for supervisor to review

It depends on the embassy they may or may not be sympathetic. I was able to expedite my case at the NVC because of that reason (I am also a student) but generally it is medial emergencies only. I decided not to expedite it because of how the NVC is with them and my embassy is tough.

Hi @Ninahuanca,

so when you call you have to ask to forward it to supervisor and if they say all are busy or no one is available then tell them please give me call back. Also one more thing my wife called in evening and they sat no one was available so she told them to call back.

and guess what she received a call and spoke with same nice lady Amanda who told us last friday that she will send our file to supervisor for review as it above time and only 1 document PR card needs to be checked. She told me today that let me take your file and check and then she checked that we sent PR card and landing paper which looks good and all other docs are ok as well. She told she will work on our file and make it case complete  by end of day :)

So I am very happy to hear this words from this kind lady. And I am waiting to see CC by tomorrow.

Try to cal and I would say speak with Amanda or Todd both of them are very helpful supervisor.

wish you good luck. I would say same for @Dinah....

@JBMG I got a ray of hope today and I see my CC coming soon mostly by end of day as per Amanda :)
