Hey guys, im a new member but have been watching the forum for a while has been really helpful. So my hubby's 2nd scan date is May 22 . Ive read around here to start checking status online every day at around the 8th week. Does saturday and sunday count or how does the counting works ? Also.. does anyone know hows El Salvador embassy ? As far as availability and all that. Thanks in advance.

Hello Sd7! I've been looking for other members who are coming from El Salvador! My husband lives in San Salvador. I've read online that the embassy isn't bad.  They ask between 6-8 questions and verify a few documents.

What was your checklist for if you don't mind me asking? Also, if the scan date was May 22nd I'd say the 8 week mark is July 17th.

Nvc lost the affidavit of support and financial evidence. Our lawyers sent everything together but somehow they lost those documents..

That's so frustrating. We have a lawyer as well and they sent our documents together and I am really praying they don't lose anything. I'm sorry to hear that. Your new date is soon though! My scan date was only 4 days ago and I'm already restless.

I know the feeling. Our case has been with NVC since February .. they sent an invalid Case termination letter because of no contact in a year. We found out USCIS never notified NVC the Waiver was under process so they thought we didnt proceed  with the visa process. After about a month they responded the case will be reinstated but we had to pay the fee bills again. We thought it was unfair but paid. About a month later they responded to a request our lawyers sent previously and said we did not had to pay the fee bills again... so another request was sent to ask for reimbursement. To this day is still under review. So its been quite a journey.

@Sd7 - you should try calling the NVC if you have crossed the 8 week mark and they might tell you if your case is in the review department if it is been picked.  I would consider Weekends as well

Well, the refund request was submitted by our lawyers in May . After all the back and forth from February up until Beginning of April when our lawyers finally sent the  DS260 and all the other documents they lost some documents and they were submitted again in May which is why the 2nd scan date is May 22 . So we havent hit the 8th week mark.

That is crazy!! I've been looking at the spread sheet that JBMG created and was looking at the people who said they used lawyers. There are 38 on the list who said yes. Of those, 28 have gone through the review process and 16 of them received a checklist! That's 57%!!! So, either these lawyers don't know what is really necessary and are incompetent or NVC doesn't know what they're doing. I'm going to say it's a healthy combination of both. It's sad when you pay good money to a lawyer thinking it will help the process go smoothly and then the data isn't supporting that thought process. I know it's only 38 people out of who knows how many but the numbers are disappointing.  I'm going to remain optimistic though.

Really crazy how many checklists we have.. Really REALLY proves that there is a problem with communication from the NVC and embassies.  Some embassies give a detailed list of what they're looking for whereas others just refer to the NVC site. Fortunately we have a forum like VJ to find answers to our questions..  But honestly, I just wish they would improve their communications and be more organized..

I have created the following in hopes to help others who have already submitted docs to the NVC or about to..

Have you tried asking for your case to be expedited? I think you've been through enough that I would hope they would approve it for you.. Meanwhile, thank you for adding yourself to our spreadsheet..

Hello ! if any one can help me out, it is truly appreciated!! My scan date was on 04/03/17 the 11wks pasted on 06/19/17 so I called the NVC to ask why i haven't received any CC or any mail regarding it. So.. it was put on "supervisor review" and THAT can take up to an additional 6 wks.<_< Ive checked other Timelines and theyve gotten it reviewed waaaay after my scan date. How come mine got 'missed'? and does it really take 6more wks!?

Hi, you're not the only one that is currently in this situation.. It's very VERY unfortunate...

Please visit the following, this will update the spreadsheet with your info.

NVC Case Status Questionnaire -  2017

VERY IMPORTANT: please keep your confirmation email from "google forms" to edit your status as your case moves along.. Yes, You CAN bookmark the questionnaire link but only after opening it up via email. I have no access to resend your original questionnaire to you. hello  .. so after 14 weeks / 97 days ... today... FINALLY GOT MY CC!!!:jest::energy::bonk::no:
@Dinah @E&N call every day and ask for a supervisor!!! I did that!

Today I Talked with a supervisor and he told me this "Today or tomorrow your case will be reviewed, I personally will make sure of that"

Good luck and thank you, everyone, specially  @JBMG

One more question...

Does anybody know what this means? or how long it takes to schedule an interview when it's expedited?

"The U.S. Embassy Consulate General has accepted this case for expedited processing. This file will be immediately forwarded to the U.S. Embassy/Consulate General."

YAY!!!!!!YAY!!!!!!YAY!!!!

Congrats!!! Finally. ;)

Just curious.. Where do you get your emoji's from? Great advice about calling everyday!! :) Good job! So proud of you getting your CC. Perseverance!!! Always works. :)

Regarding your question, you should get an interview date soon. But I think it really depends on your embassy.. But I'm not 100% sure when it comes to expedited cases. ;)
