One thing I am concerned about is whether I need to provide proof of domicile. I am the petitioner and I am living in Mexico on a tourist visa. Do I need to provide proof of domicile and if so what are some things I can use as proof?

I received my NOA2 one month ago (May 26) and NVC said they received my case on June 15 but we still don't have a case number! This seems to be taking longer than others report here...is this normal!?

I got my email from NVC with my case and invoice number exactly 2 weeks after the date they said they received it.

Good Morning! I was wondering if you'd mind explaining what the color coding means on the NVC Case Status Spread Sheet? Or is there a key that I missed? Thanks! :)

Great question, first one to ever ask. :) There isn't really a Key.. But the colors are represented in the Heading bar by the different stages.  (the top bar)

Under Review/in the review department (blue)

Case Complete (Purple)

Received Interview date (Green)

Checklist (Dark Pink) But in Column 'L' just recently added this.  Yellow if their case wasn't delayed by the checklist they received (just one scan date), Dark Pink if yes their case was delayed/ received a 2nd scan date.

Still waiting to reach the "review department" or for a Case Complete (CC) - White/Clear

In the following columns, they turn light green when they've reached 8 weeks, 9 weeks, 10 weeks, 11 weeks.. But once their status is updated with a new date, their entire row changes color to the stage they're in (blue, purple, green, dark pink). Hopefully, making it easier for us to know where they're at when we scroll across the page. :)

8 weeks (56 days) from scan date 9 weeks (63 days) from scan date 10 weeks (70 days) from scan date 11 weeks (77 days) from scan date

Makes no sense.. Def call back again and ask for your case number and your iid number.. they should have it by now.. normal you haven't received your welcome letter yet, should receive that in a few days.. but they should have your case number and your iid number available to give to you.

Yes you do..  Here is a post I found on another forum.. Don't hesitate to use the search feature on VJ with keywords.. Can find amazing info..

I too am living abroad with my spouse but since my parents still live in the US, kept my permanent address there.. I showed copies of the following proof and was approved with no problems...

Maintained my XXXX voter registration

• Maintained my bank account at XXXX Bank

• Maintained my XXXX drivers license

Sent in copies of the following:

• Voter registration card showing permanent US address

• XXXX Bank statement showing permanent US address

• XXXX drivers license showing permanent US address

Here you go. I got this layout from another poster either on this board or one of the others I frequent, and modified it slightly for our circumstances. I don't know if you have to have this much, but I figured since I did, I may as well use it all, right?

I also wrote a little cover letter explaining why I was in the UK, and why we were moving back. Our initial plan was to live in the UK for up to 4 years, and then move, which is why I maintained everything, including my car. But a housing opportunity presented itself that really makes it hard to pass up going at this time.
