@chamma Thanks! Yup, hubby plans to call twice a week until we get our case number and IIN. We definitely plan to be on top of the forms and fees. I've already applied for a police certificate and should get it within the next 2 weeks. I've pre-filled out the i-864 and hubby has his tax transcripts (but only the tax return for 2016 though).

Hi everyone! We got approved at USCIS on the 7th of June. Hubby called NVC and they said they received our case on Monday the 12th. We're excited but also dreading another potentially long wait ahead of us.

Hello,

What is the procedure for submitting documents after we submitted our aos and iv package? We just found out we sent the wrong version of hubbys birth cert and don't want to wait for a checklist.

What are the results of doing this? Will it reset our scan date even if they havent asked for it yet?

The good thing is that we only submitted our ds-260 a couole days ago, so even if it does reset our sd, it wont be too painful.

Thanks in advance.

Yeah, it will restart once they receive your new documents. Since you're doing that, read the following to make sure no other changes are needed. Congrats on catching that now. :-)  just make sure you include your cover page, and write your case number on every document.

After you have submitted the documents, you could confirm the date when NVC receives it. That's your scan date.. and then you wait for upto 11 weeks to get to the Case Complete stage..

Now if you are sure you have sent an incorrect document, you should resend all the documents with the correct birth certificate in that way you would not be wasting for 22 weeks, you could be waiting for lesser.. also I see that your scan date could be early Jun, so not a bad option to send it across. There have been VJers who were in the similar situation as yours.

Ethiopia allows electronic processing, Addis Ababa...

ADD!! You should have opted for the EP it's way faster. Anyway scan date is the date Nvc received your supporting documents.

You got to be honest with the entire process. Because if you do not mention - USCIS would eventually know that he was denied. I am sure being true would not hamper the process of your IR1/CR1. Good Luck! :)

I'm definitely going to list it on the DS-260. My question was more about how much detail I needed to put. Just say yes or also put the reason it was denied. Thank you and good luck to you as well!

You'll be able to in a few days but you won't be able to actually pay the fees until you get the email from them. I was worried too but as soon as the email hit my inbox the fees opened up and I was able to pay.
