Ok, I have a new question about the DS-260 guys. So, last year before we were married, my husband applied for a tourist visa to come visit me but it was denied because he didn't have "strong enough ties to show he would return to the country". Should I put that detailed information as to why it was denied or just put the he applied and it was denied without further explanation? It shouldn't come as much of a shock to them. They pretty much deny everyone unless you're elderly or have a lot of money (harsh, but true). Thanks for any input!!

just say I was rejected for b1/b2 visa on _____ date. there is no official reason for rejection given to you so this much detail will be ok. they can pull up record if they want.

Hello, wondering if this forum is for me...my husband's application is now at the NVC stage. I'm not sure what is meant by "scan date." Is this for electronic processing? My husband's home country is Ethiopia which does not allow ep. I overnighted the IV and AOS package yesterday via USPS.

Yes, you can follow this forum post now. Scan date is when the NVC receives your package and marks it as received in their system. is like your priority date from the USCIS.

This is a spreadsheet we have been using to track everyone's cases:

Please add your information to the spreadsheet too by filling out the following questionnaire: :D

Does anyone know if there's an expiration date on the Police Certificate? The actual document itself doesn't have one. It just has the issue date. We thought the USCIS process and I-130 approval would be much quicker, so in attempt to be preemptive my husband got the police certificate March 20th, 2017. I'm worried now that we're sending it in that they won't accept it?? Does anyone know the rules on this and how long they're valid for?

You normally have 12 months, if it "expires" close to the interview date you may need to get another. Thankfully here it is an easy process, I know of someone in Canada who is really struggling with trying to source one from India for his application to be a citizen. He claims to "know" his Fedex driver and his colleagues enough to send them a Christmas card this year!

So this is good news for the more popular countries.. They can get a better idea of when they'll get their CC and interview notification.. Thank you to everyone for filling out the questionnaire and keeping our spreadsheet up to date.. Finally I think we can see some real evidence that processing times are based on the country you come from...

You got to be honest with the entire process. Because if you do not mention - USCIS would eventually know that he was denied. I am sure being true would not hamper the process of your IR1/CR1. Good Luck! :)

Please call NVC and get it confirmed that your packet is in their system. That is when you can start counting down your 11 week wait. Good Luck!! :)
