(second) Scan Date: April 11th

Case Complete: June 13th

Yay - such a relief! I first sent my documents to NVC in early January so it has been a tough 5.5 months but finally just got off the phone with a case complete.

For those with Employment Based Green Card applications, like mine, there is no way to tell online if your case is complete. It has said "At NVC" since January and has not changed since I got my case complete today. This is different to what people are reporting for the marriage based green cards.

So the only way to tell if your case is complete is to keep checking your account online? There is no email or physical mail sent? This is a question for all applicants and not just employment based green card applications. Thanks!

You have the CC email going out to the applicants and the petitioners going out.It is observed that it is been taking 5-7 working days. In the mean time if your interview is scheduled, you get your Interview letter which is called the P4.

Hello. this is for those who are about to send their supporting documents into the NVC

Avoid getting a checklist. Here are notes from cases who received a checklist.

In summary, make sure you submit the correct version of your birth certificate, court records, police records, landing papers. Check out the embassy site in your country to see if you can get a detailed list of the documents you must have.. MAKE SURE YOU'RE SENDING THE CORREC VERSIONS AND WRITING YOUR CASE NUMBER ON EACH COPY..

Make sure you write your CASE number on EVERY copy, including your AOS/i-864 form.. You can buy a stamp or print them out on a label sheet, cut and stick on each copy..   Make sure you have filled out your AOS form correctly and have included any w2 and 1099s.. If you don't have a w2, and tax transcripts explain why you don't have them in a letter.

Here is a list of real checklists from Feb/March/April cases.. Don't let this happen to you.

=======

Asked for proof of canadian residence (PR card) which was already submitted with I-130 and mailed document to NVC on June 12th. Also assessment for W2 form which I can take in Interview.
Court record
Incorrect BC and police report
Affidavit of Support form and supporting financial documents
Photocopy of original birth certificate
Missing Birth Certificate
Wrong birth certificate
missing i-i-864a (household member)
They say we are missing Birth Cert and Police Cert but we sent them.
Missing police record
NVC could not accept our police certificate-apparently they lost 2 pages of it
Birth certificate
1st checklist 12/07/17 . correct info in AOS : in the application in sponsor's household size i filled the box #3 instead of #1.
2nd checklist 02/11/17 only sent corrected pages. Didn't know that i had to send all 12 pages again . my latest scan date was 02/15/17
I-864, some places left blank.
They said it was an incorrect birth certificate.
Checklist for a death certificate
Court Records
obsolete AOS form
Incorrect birth certificate. Needs to be one with parents names
Incorrect Marriage Certificate
Financial documents (standard as we are using assets). Also said we had incorrect birth certificate. When I called to clarify, turned out it was incorrect police certificate.

Computer generated birth certificate

You can check out our spreadsheet which shows who got a checklist.

NVC Case Status Spread Sheet -  2017 (save this link in your browser)  You can organize the spreadsheet by column "z". See the "sort instructions" tab in the spreadsheet to learn how to sort.  (must use a computer to sort, doesn't seem work on phone)

Thank you so much for this. Do you know what the difference between the court record and police record, and if you have no issues on your police record (arrests, etc.) then is it assumed that you do not need to submit a court record? Any guidance would be really helpful!

You're welcome. :)

I do not know the answer to this...I believe you're correct. You would only need court records if you have an incident on your police records.. But hopefully you can confirm by looking at your embassy's website..  Some countries may simply request for court records even if you're police record is clean... Personally, in France, we didn't send in any court records because the police report was clean.. I'm still waiting for a CC.. so we'll see...  @ain  Do you have any feedback you can share since you received a checklist for this..

Wonderful news! Ours was changed to paid yesterday afternoon!! Our lawyer is working on the DS-260 now and should be sending it in today or tomorrow! With them it takes a little more time because the legal assistant fills it in with our answers then the attorney reviews it before submitting. Good luck to you with everything else! :)

Thanks Cleon86 and good luck to you as well.

Good luck!  My scan date was April 4th. I called last Friday and was told I forgot to sign my name in one place on the Affidavit of Support.  Recent it back, they will receive it today.  Was told I have to wait up to 11 weeks when I have already waited almost 10.  It was sent directly to the Document Review Department so hopefully it will not take 11 weeks.  Fingers crossed!

Does anyone know if there's an expiration date on the Police Certificate? The actual document itself doesn't have one. It just has the issue date. We thought the USCIS process and I-130 approval would be much quicker, so in attempt to be preemptive my husband got the police certificate March 20th, 2017. I'm worried now that we're sending it in that they won't accept it?? Does anyone know the rules on this and how long they're valid for?

USCIS
09/23/2016: NOA1, I-130 received at USCIS Nebraska Service Center
02/16/2017: Case transferred to Texas Service Center

05/6/2017: NOA2, did not receive electronic notification

05/12/2017: Received NOA2 via snail mail

05/18/2017: Notification received on App that case was sent to NVC
NVC
05/23/2017: Case received at NVC

06/01/2017: Received case and invoice number via phone

06/06/2017: Received e-mail with case and invoice number, fees paid

06/20/2017: DS-260 submitted and AOS/IV package sent

06/22/2017: Scan Date

08/23/2017: Case in Review Department

08/25/2017: Case Complete

10/19/2017: Interview (Approved!!)

I have the same question for myself. My husbands police certificate would have expired this month. I'm a little worried if they will accept it or not :(

I think for certain countries it is different as far as how they format them.  On our police certificate it did have an expiration date.  It expires in one year from the date of issuance and that seems to be the golden rule for all police certificates regardless if they have an exp. date listed or not.  If you just got yours March 2017 I am sure you are good.  However, there was one person from Brazil who said his PC was only valid for 3 months from date of issuance.  I am not sure what the rules are for El Salvador or for other countries, but on the NVC website it does state that police certificates are valid for up to one year from when you obtained it.  Maybe check on your embassy's website or see what others from your countries forum have said.

Def contact your embassy and see what they say... Not sure if the NVC customer service rep would  know the answer but you could try contacting them as well...  You want to make sure use you're submitting the correct version. And if there are any incident on the police report, submit any court records.

check out the following .

Also, you can ask others form your country.
