Much love @Ahmed & Amy......

All words come short ♡

Ameen  Thank you. It took a bit longer than I expected. I was attempting to make an organized guide on VJ, but I have failed miserably. :lol: So I made a quick guide via pdf. God Willing I will create a better guide tomorrow after I've gotten some rest. But this should be helpful for you now. I apologize for taking so long. http://www.mediafire.com/file/v248p9ppxbb74yd/Aramex+Step+by+step+guide+-+Egypt+.pdf

You're awesome and so kind to everyone here!! I enjoy reading your comments and seeing the support and feedback you provide the community. :) I think I'll have to just read all of your posts as I'm sure I can learn a lot from them. This whole process between CC to interview, post interview is all new to me.. Fresh meat.. Need to soak up as much knowledge as I can.

Thank you so much. I am just getting out of the interview stage, so I am awaiting the POE experience to share with all B-)

Thanks sweetheart 😘😘. I try to share whatever I have read elsewhere and have learned here as much possible to the people looking for any specific info. Though I don't pitch in to a great extent but I try to dig out information if it's in my ability and my schedule permits me. What I don't do is, give any incorrect or incomplete information..rather I suggest them to explore and find an expert to answer the question.

You're welcomed dear  Yes I am the same. Better to give correct advice or none at all. I prefer not to just give only my opinions, I do try to back it up with facts based on my own experience or links so that people can read it for themselves; which is why I tend to stick with cases CR-1/IR-1 as that is what I am most familiar with so far.

  1. what documents for 2016 you had submitted to the NVC (like W2, etc.,)
  2. did you submit extension for 2016?

My husband submitted his IRS 2014, 2015 and 2016 and W2.

About the wet signature or bringing the I-864. It clearly says on the interview instructions to bring an original signed 2016 I864 and W2's. (At least it did on my P4 letter.)

At my interview however, they did not ask to take the 2016 I-864 but only took the 2016 W2's. She also did not ask for the original signed I-864 that I had sent to NVC in 2016 for the year 2015 tax year.

My best advice to anyone is, bring the original 2016 I-864 with either the 2016 W2's or 2016 IRS tax transcripts, along with what you had already sent to the NVC. It's better to be safe than sorry. We brought so many documents with us to our interview, only because we knew that it had been asked for by others who attended interviews from our consulate, but thankfully we were not asked for any of it.

I say read the interview reviews for your consulate and prepare yourself well... again better to be safe than sorry.

I wish you all luck to those who are having your up coming interviews. :)

Thanks @Ahmed & Amy for sharing your experience & sound advice on i864 & the wet signatures. You and many others who have already done with their interviews are great assets to this community, for the experiences and the situations you have been through  the whole journey. This community would have been zero without everybody's experiences.

Suggestions are written here with an intention to help others overcome a situation or to avoid a risk.

Though Suggestions are always here, everybody is knowledgeable enough to see if it actually makes sense. And I can vouch nobody here would ever want to mislead, for everyone is in the same boat.Even I believe that it's best way to carry an inked signature to avoid a risk. Thanks again :)

Hello, by chance on your checklist where it says to bring 2016 w2s, are/were you requested to provide an updated AOS form as well?

 @claudia88031  @Auds @Gege6

You 3 already had your interview.. Did you have to submit a new AOS form with your 2016 w2's? If so, did it have a 'wet signature"?

Thank you,

JBMG

Actually on my checklist, it states to bring my W2 for 2016 tax return only on the Assessment Letter.

Then when I referred to the embassy info I downloaded from NVC website, there is a pre-interview checklist and it says Form I-864 Affidavit of Support is needed.  I had sent in my original I-864 to NVC, supposedly NVC would forward it to the embassy, so will bring a copy of that, but plan to fill out another one with exact same info and sign it so my husband can have one with wet signature.

Just wondering, can I attend the interview together with my husband?

Few people in this forum have attended the interview with their spouses. So there is no restrictions for that it seems. However every embassy behaves differently.

To clarify, does it say bring yours or your joint-sponsor's  2016 w2s?

Because from the following, you're both in HK and you don't have w2s..

14 hours ago, ILKFC said:

got a checklist 2 days after CC, told us to bring W-2 for 2016 tax return to the interview, we both work in Hong Kong so we don't have that.... now status is back to "submit requested documents" and "AOS" showed up again... 😣 but the checklist said they will still schedule out interview so I guess no need to worry too much...?  just hope we receive the interview date soon next week!

yes correct

Please copy/paste your checklist text here to better understand what they're asking.. Because it sounds like your checklist text is different than mine but we're both in the same situation.. Living abroad with no job in the US.

@JBMG see if you find something here:

Thanks PP :) Great info here ! Read these and was even in contact with some people from these forums before submitting my AOS. :) My AOS form was good and I didn't have any problems with it. My automatic checklist received was exactly as I had expected from the NVC. Back in April, A NVC rep explained that this would happen.. Also, had read that info on the forums as well.  My confusion started though with my conversation with the NVC rep last week, saying different information that was listed on my checklist.... But several people have reached out to me via private message and on here explaining that even if assets qualify you, it's a good idea to have a joint-sponsor ready at the interview.  Was planning on that anyways. so that's what i'm going to do. :)   Thanks again
