So point # 1 is a known reason for a wet ink to be asked. For all the documents sent electronically, the original signature are required to be brought at the interview. As NVC never vetted them.

That is a very good point that I did not consider. I feel like we are coming up with the answer to this issue while talking it out on here haha

Hello, by chance on your checklist where it says to bring 2016 w2s, are/were you requested to provide an updated AOS form as well?

 @claudia88031  @Auds @Gege6

You 3 already had your interview.. Did you have to submit a new AOS form with your 2016 w2's? If so, did it have a 'wet signature"?

Thank you,

JBMG

Hi, no. They just instructed us to bring ALL w-2s associated with my joint sponsor, but no mention of AOS. It explicitly states: "You must bring the required financial evidence:" and then it proceeds to tell us we must bring all w-2s for our joint sponsor. The checklist is worded quite confusingly and it actually could make you think you DO need to correct the I-864, but it says follow the instructions at the bottom of the page and the only thing listed was to bring the w-2s.

I really think ours was a confusion at the NVC and how they interpreted the income of our joint sponsor and the total income he and his wife filed for on the tax return. We only listed him as a joint sponsor and his wife didn't fill out an I-864a because his income was high enough already by itself, so there's a mismatch in the total income number listed on the I-864 and his w-2 statement. I called the NVC about it and they said that might have been the reason for the checklist and just advised us to bring whatever was listed in the checklist, which was ALL w-2s associated with that tax year. So we're bringing a copy of his wife's w-2 so we can show how the total number adds up.

Hi Guys!

So my wife's CC was confirmed on 6/21/2017.  Upon further inquiry, I was informed that NVC will start to roll out August interview dates for June CCs.

Hope to get the interview date soon!  For Islamabad interview, interview date is approx. 42 days from CC.  Hopefully we get something for first two weeks of August.

Does NVC e-mail or mail any letter regarding CC or no?

Many Thanks!

First of all congratulations on your CC. Wish your file is on time for first two weeks of August..i am sure it is and you would get the date soon. Regarding the CC email, they usually take a week or two to send the confirmation email. However if they schedule your interview within those weeks then they send interview date confirmation (P4 letter) and no CC confirmation (email)

You're welcomed. It works fine when I goes through the link. Maybe try a different browser. I used chrome and it works fine with us.

I do know that someone else a few weeks ago had issues and then after trying several times were finally able to access the site fine and register.

It took Ahmed exactly one week to receive his medical results from Anglo American hospital in Cairo. El Sherouk said over the phone that it takes them two weeks, but we went with Anglo American. I believe ideally it can take one to two weeks depending on the hospital.

Which city are you guys coming from, if you don't mind me asking?

Thank you dear

I am having problems registering for the courrier thing......should i choose CR conditional spouse visa?(as my marriage date is less than two years)?

How can i find detailed guidance to get done with the registration bit plz?

Thank you !! I think the NVC is confused about my case as well.. What I found interesting is that on my check list, it says the following.. I'm American living in France with my husband so I can't be his sponsor. So we're using assets..

______F - FINANCIAL EVIDENCE:______________________________________

We reviewed the Affidavit of Support (Form I-864) and financial evidence you sent to the National Visa

Center (NVC). According to the current poverty guidelines for a household of your size, the income you

listed does not meet the minimum requirement to sponsor the intending immigrant(s) on this petition. If

you provided NVC with proof of assets in lieu of income in order to meet the minimum income

threshold, please note these assets will not be evaluated by NVC and will only be considered at the time

of the visa interview.

NVC will continue working on your case and will schedule a visa interview appointment overseas. If

you have not included evidence of your assets in your submission to NVC, please make sure that you

bring the evidence to the interview appointment. If you do not have proof of assets to meet the

minimum income requirement, we recommend that you seek a joint financial sponsor or a household

member to join you in financially supporting these immigrant family members.

If you choose to add joint sponsors or household members, please have them complete the appropriate

Affidavit of Support form and give it to the visa applicant to submit at their visa interview, along with

supporting financial evidence such as IRS tax returns. Do not send these documents to NVC. During

the visa interview a consular officer will review any proof of assets that you submitted and any

additional sponsorship documents.

===

But when I called the NVC to ask about if July interview dates were done, she said yes but then said, I see in your file that you have a checklist for not meeting the income requirement. But it's ok, you can have a joint-sponsor..  I said, ok that's interesting but I thought I did because I'm using assets...She said well it's tricky.. you're short by 1200 USD to meet the qualification.. But I said.. ok that's strange.. thought it was 3x more.. She was like "no, for assets it's 5x more" So then I hung up.. Didn't think anything more about it until now..

But when I look at the i864 instructions it says  "if you are a U.S. citizen and you are sponsoring your spouse or minor child, the total value of your assets must only be equal to at least three times the difference."

So i don't know what to believe.. I'm thinking of getting a joint sponsor to be safe.. And bring that AOS form and their tax transcripts.. But  like you in your case, the NVC can be quite confusing..

Anyone else experience this?

Yeah, that's strange. I would for sure try and get a joint sponsor prior to the interview and get all the required documents put together for that just to be on the safe side. I'm actually in the same situation except I'm relying solely on joint sponsors to meet the requirements and not using assets. I'm an American living in Laos with my wife and we'll go back to the States as soon as she gets approved. I've been here for just over four years so I had to get joint sponsors as I don't make nearly enough money at my job here.

Can our CEAC status change to "in transit" before receiving our interview date? Mine still says "AT NVC" which I imagine is normal as we just got our CC on June 20th.. But was wondering can/do they send our file before our interview is scheduled?

Mine still says at NVC too!

Yeah, I agree, I am def going to have a joint sponsor.. Don't want to risk being without.. hopefully I won't need it but it's better to play it safe..  Don't know about you, but it's def the most frustrating part of this process.. It's not so easy to ask for a joint sponsor.. be it friends  or family..  Thanks for your feedback and encouragement. :) Keep us posted on how your interview goes. Coming up soon!! Wish you both much luck!!  :)

Yes, it looks like this is the case. .Will stay "AT NVC" until we get our interview.. Then from my understanding "in transit" then for example "at Paris" (the city of your embassy)..

I am sure that most of you probably already know about this.. But for those that don't, you can read about interviews in your country's embassy..

For example: Here's India's, you can sort by consulate and your visa type.  :)

Could relieve some stress by reading about other's experiences...

@chammaIt would be really helpful for all of us if you can send the link where it says you have to carry the original AOS. I haven't seen it anywhere. Though I have the original AOS (wet ink) with me which my husband sent me along with the 2016 tax return. I am keeping it as an additional document in case embassy asks for it. But for the benefit of others in the group please share the link/article/document. Sooner or later i am sure lots of people are going to have this question. Please share.

I still stand by those comments. Our visa paperwork was looked over very meticulously when we presented it at the interview and the wet signature was absolutely required. The person reviewing our documents thumbed through every single page of the Affidavit of Support for myself and for our cosponsor and they studied the signature to make sure it was authentic. My attorney made a point of telling me we absolutely needed to have the wet signature.

The announcement that wet signatures are no longer required is extremely misleading, very confusing, and completely false. The way it is stated in the article makes it sound like just a photocopy is ok, but my opinion is that NVC allows photocopies of the signature for purposes of completing the case, while the wet signature is required at the embassy.

About the wet signature or bringing the I-864. It clearly says on the interview instructions to bring an original signed 2016 I864 and W2's. (At least it did on my P4 letter.)

At my interview however, they did not ask to take the 2016 I-864 but only took the 2016 W2's. She also did not ask for the original signed I-864 that I had sent to NVC in 2016 for the year 2015 tax year.

My best advice to anyone is, bring the original 2016 I-864 with either the 2016 W2's or 2016 IRS tax transcripts, along with what you had already sent to the NVC. It's better to be safe than sorry. We brought so many documents with us to our interview, only because we knew that it had been asked for by others who attended interviews from our consulate, but thankfully we were not asked for any of it.

I say read the interview reviews for your consulate and prepare yourself well... again better to be safe than sorry.

I wish you all luck to those who are having your up coming interviews. :)
