Hahaha. That's great. Thank you, we just need one calling for us. :-) but most likely they'll start having some interview dates released next Thursday /Friday and the following week Monday and Tuesday.. That's what the spreadsheet says..

Do you know when was the last date people got schedule in Dhaka Bangladesh?

Thanks for asking it @Johnny385. Me too interested in knowing that..! It's an unresolved mystery and people are making rules and confirming also as per their convenience. Lol. I wanted to ask @MLK2016this question but thought since he was there with his wife for the interview he must have had it with him. An answer would help everyone with their upcoming interview. Else it may not be convenient for all or they may not have enough time to receive the physical copy of the updated AOS post 2016 tax return update. Let's resolve this for once and forever. 😋

Well, I was not trying to make some statement without a thought. :( I am also in the same boat.. you know my situation.

From whatever I have seen on my case and learned from others in the forum is until they give an interview date the status remains as 'at nvc'. But this doesn't necessarily mean you formally receiving the email confirmation. It's possible that they have given the interview date, the person never called so didn't get the date on phone, email is on progress and hence the status has changed to 'in transit '. These are just hypothetical scenarios and never known in reality by me. So an assumption based on possibilities

There are various types of i864 forms. Like my husband filled i864ez as he is the sole sponsor and we don't need additional one. Likewise different forms can be used for different cases. I am afraid i don't want to leave any comment here specific to your case without knowing the details. I can read about it somewhere and try to find out an answer for you.

@chammaIt would be really helpful for all of us if you can send the link where it says you have to carry the original AOS. I haven't seen it anywhere. Though I have the original AOS (wet ink) with me which my husband sent me along with the 2016 tax return. I am keeping it as an additional document in case embassy asks for it. But for the benefit of others in the group please share the link/article/document. Sooner or later i am sure lots of people are going to have this question. Please share.

Embassy consulates may still require original paperqork for I864, particularly in situations where applications at NVC have been electronically sumbitted. Need to check your applicable consulate information.

Yep, checked with various sources and I will be required to bring the wet signature I-864 to the interview. Shame on NVC for the confusing wording.

I still stand by those comments. Our visa paperwork was looked over very meticulously when we presented it at the interview and the wet signature was absolutely required. The person reviewing our documents thumbed through every single page of the Affidavit of Support for myself and for our cosponsor and they studied the signature to make sure it was authentic. My attorney made a point of telling me we absolutely needed to have the wet signature.

The announcement that wet signatures are no longer required is extremely misleading, very confusing, and completely false. The way it is stated in the article makes it sound like just a photocopy is ok, but my opinion is that NVC allows photocopies of the signature for purposes of completing the case, while the wet signature is required at the embassy.

Thank you so much for clarifying and sharing your experience. :) Def makes sense that the NVC is ok with a copy of a signature for the AOS form as they're ok with copies of everything else.. But def need your original with a wet signature for the interview. :)

Yeah, And looking at the NVC link.. Does make sense you still need a wet signature..

https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/news/ink-signature-no-longer-required-on-affidavits-of-support.html

Starting January 1, 2017, the National Visa Center (NVC) will accept photocopies and scanned versions of signed Forms I-864 and associated documents. Please note that the form must still be signed; typed names and electronic signatures will not be accepted. NVC will only ask petitioners to submit an amended Form I-864 to NVC if the financial sponsor’s name and personal information are missing; there is no signature at all; or if there are missing pages.
