If you have not received your SSN by June 14th, visit your local social security office IN PERSON and apply.  Only about 50% of us actually receive the SSN even though we ticked the box in the DS-260 to say "send me one".

Your green card will probably take 2-3 months to arrive.  Ours took 8 weeks.

thank you very much!!

I guess I really have to wait and see, ouch...

That's not a good news. Train reservations on short notice are almost impossible to get. I hope you don't have to travel too far and you can get there using your vehicle.

oh well ,the nearest US approved medical center takes 5-6 hours by road....

Hello, @Tanishjust curious.. I know I've seen this answered before but I can't find it.. How long does it take to receive the interview confirmation email once the NVC has confirmed via phone that you have an interview? Meanwhile, I see your interview is coming up!! good luck !! :)

Just got scheduled for interview on july 6th in Islamabad, my cc was may 13th...

Now what will happen next?? I got this information on phone

Well congratulations on getting your interview date!  You will receive a P4 letter in 5 to 7 days, usually by email which will give you information on everything you will need to bring to your interview depending on your visa type and if there is anything extra the embassy might want.  You will need to schedule your medical examination after you receive your P4 letter, and possibly courier service for delivery of your paperwork and passport after your approval though that seems to be different from embassy to embassy. Still many things to do but the end is in sight for you. Good luck and congrats again.

Hello,

My husband's interview is on June 18th.

We will have the package mailed to his home state.

My question is...

Will his passport come in this package or is it given to the applicant right after the interview?

Thanks so much!!!

They keep his passport and send it via DHL along with a sealed packet that he can't open and has to give to immigration officer at customs/immigration when he arrives in the states!!

I was thinking he had to wait for his passport in Ciudad Juarez and then go to his home state to wait for the sealed packet, and we already booked his flight back to his home state for late evening after his interview. So now Im less stresses out.

Thank you!!
