Hello all

Thank you so much for all the help

So i am still preparing for my interview @Cairo embassy@13th of july isA

I have a question concerning the courrier bit....Aramex ? Would u plz explain to me what 3xactly i should do? :blink:

Hi and congratulations. :) You register with Aramex, through creating an account with ustraveldocs.

https://cgifederal.secure.force.com/SiteRegister?country=Egypt&language=en_US If you have not done so already, create your account via this link. Once you go through all the steps it will lead you to the final page where you can print off the Aramex confirmation page, that you will take with you to the embassy. ***If you do not have a printer at home, just go to any printer shop, log in to your account and print it off there.

Hope this helps and wishing you tons of luck. :)

Hello all:rolleyes:

How many days does it take the medical examination repot/results to be out? @Cairo-Egypt

May u all  have a quick easy completion of ur visa journey ^-^

You're welcomed. It works fine when I goes through the link. Maybe try a different browser. I used chrome and it works fine with us.

I do know that someone else a few weeks ago had issues and then after trying several times were finally able to access the site fine and register.

It took Ahmed exactly one week to receive his medical results from Anglo American hospital in Cairo. El Sherouk said over the phone that it takes them two weeks, but we went with Anglo American. I believe ideally it can take one to two weeks depending on the hospital.

Which city are you guys coming from, if you don't mind me asking?

Hello, I'm preparing for my interview.

i got checklist, and I need to bring Corrected i-864 with me.

im really confused about that household size that we need to correct.

My husband lives with his parents and his dad is our joint sponsor.

Does on his household size need to be total 3? Joint sponsor, his wife, and me(beneficiary)

and on my husbands household size need to be 2? My husband(petitioner), and me(beneficiary).

sorry if this is not place for this question..

and when he printed online filed I-864 there was no barcode. Is it okay to send it to me like that? With no barcode.

In check list NVC asked you bring only Corrected I-864 with you. Also, Do you have to take current Pay stubs

In my case, we submitted

1) last three years federal tax returns (2013,14 &15)

2) W2s and 1099 (for all the bank accounts) for all three years

3) Along with that the W2 for 2016.

Got CC without checklist. We have interview on 11th July. However, on 20th of June we received an email from the US embassy in Delhi that we need to bring the 2016 federal tax return to complete the file for interview. Though we were anyways ready with 2016 tax return, the email confirms that embassy and the CO definitely need the latest document.

Email snapshot below:

I agree with newcomer, have your husband do both the 2015 and 2016 taxes.. "married filing separately" You can't file since you don't have a US TIN or SSN.. IRS told me to write "NRA - NO US TIN, NO SSN" in the SSN of my 1040 form.

He can file today, bring copies to your interview.. Honestly that the best advice.. This way your safe.. Not sure what the benefits of trying to file together since you haven't been living in the US in the same household?

My scan date was 4/25 and CC on 6/21

This is what I submitted to NVC:

- 2015 tax transcript + W2s

- 2016 tax extension + W2s

I filed "Married filing jointly" because I was able to obtain Tax ID number for my spouse but if you do not have Tax ID number then you should file as "Married filing separately".

Honestly the CO does not care if it is joint or separate. They only care if the 2016 tax return was filed. As I said you may get lucky and the CO accepts the 2016 tax extension but after reading many interview cases I saw that for the interviews that were conducted after April 15, most of the applicants were requested their recent year tax return if they filed an extension. If they did not bring the tax return with them then the CO asked them to submit after the interview which just causes additional delay. To be on the safe side, I will suggest to file the 2016 tax and take the copy with you. If they ask then submit if not then no need.

I agree with this as well.  I think the extensions are ok, but better safe of course.  I think the only time that an extension could raise some serious suspicions is if you had your interview say in September or October and you bring your 2016 extension.  I could see that being a problem.  The whole point of an extension is to let the IRS know you won't have your taxes done by the April date.  So you could be ok given that we are at the end of June, but if your are really worried about it then just go ahead and file as mentioned above.

Thank You Guys- @Raag, @JBMG, @NewComer, @PP_2016, @Erin&Alex!!

I am trying to figure out a way with my husband! Definitely is a lot better to be on the safer side.

@PP_2016 - few questions for you

1. did you file an extension for 2016 and submit the same to NVC with your other documents?

2. Have you now filed 2016 returns as "Married filing separately"?

No, we didn't file and submitted extensions coz we knew we will be able to file the tax before interview. We sent only 2016 W2 to NVC for which they didn't raise any concerns. Now that we are in June, it's expected to file the taxes and have the acknowledgment, which we have.

I dont have a TAX ID yet so it was filled by my husband alone. I will ask him if the Category is called 'married filing separately'.

Hope the answers from multiple people have been useful for you. If I was you, I would have simply taken the 2016 tax return to the interview.

In my case my husband received it. So I assume they send the mail to petitioners. I would not be surprised if its done by embassy in Delhi only and not other cities.

As a suggestion I would tell you to carry the tax return anyways. What if they never send you email ans still ask it at the interview!!

Only the embassy/consulate can answer if its a compulsion.
