We were planning on packing his monitor in the checked luggage and keep his laptop as a personal carry-on item.. It's just way to expensive to ship his computer, so we're thinking on leaving the computer/tower behind and just bringing the monitor. We still don't know for sure. We're worried to cause issues, but I've read from others that it's ok.... Ugh, I don't know to be honest.

You probably already took this into consideration, but just as a reminder, as far as I know there is a ban on electronic items in hand luggage between certain cities and the US. I would just double check your itinerary and with your airline. It would be horrible to have to try to throw your laptop into a carefully packed bag last minute!

Hello, not sure how we have missed you. We've been collecting scan dates since March. It's been extremely helpful for us to see what to expect with the NVC from SD to CC, to interview date. If you could join us on our spreadsheet, your history will help us better understand when we could receive our CC's and interview dates.

Here is our spread sheet. NVC Case Status Spread Sheet -  2017

Please visit the following, this will update the spreadsheet with your info.

NVC Case Status Questionnaire -  2017

If you have yet to receive your interview date.  It's VERY IMPORTANT to keep your confirmation email from "google forms". With that email, you can edit your status as your case moves along.. Yes, You CAN bookmark the questionnaire link but only after opening it up via email. I have no access to resend your original questionnaire to you. Here are instructions on .

Thank you, THANK YOU for your contribution. :)

I feel your pain regarding shipping the computer. I'll need to bring my work computer as well and with how heavy the casing is, it'll be an extra luggage just for the black box (chassis). and then the two heavy monitors since they'll be selling for way too cheap if I want to leave those here. ugh

impossible to leave the chassis behind as it'll take a good day of work to build a new one over there.

Exactly how my husband feels. He built his computer and he just hates having to buy all this again. I think we will just have to add it as extra luggage.

Yes we have. And thank you for the reminder as well. Thankfully our flight is not a direct flight from Egypt to the US; we will have 1 stop in between from a country that is not on the electronic ban list.

Hello, Just sent the following email message to those of you on this forum thread who are not already on our spreadsheet. Inviting 67 of you to add yourself to our spreadsheet. We have several April/May/June cases where they're the only one from their country. With your info/add, this will help them get a better idea of CC processing times and interview scheduling.. Also, if you had a checklist, sharing your experience could help those that haven't sent their docs to the NVC.. OR already have but still have time to resubmit the correct documents.

Thank you THANK YOU for your help.

I am very please to announce that my mom's visa was adjudicated yesterday.  They told her to wait a week to receive the visa.  It was a long journey, but it is near the end.  Next week, I will travel to Santiago, Chile to pick her up.  Best luck to all of you!  The wait is long, but the reward is well worth it!

Thank you all!!
