Actually it no longer has to be signed physically.  They are now accepting photocopies of the signed Affidavit.  @JessieABC posted something about this a few months ago, as apparently it is a new rule that was recently put into place.  In my honest opinion and just to be on the safe side, I am personally bringing a physically signed copy or "wet signature" just in case.  That is just me though.  Hey, you can never be too prepared right?  Regardless, it is now acceptable and up to you whether you decide you want a physical or photocopied signature. See this link below:

Hi again @Moe house Lovely @Erin&Alex found the answer for you. Thank you so much Erin. :)  This is good news for me as i may need a co-sponsor. :)

Does anyone know how long it takes for NVC to send the case to the embassy for interview scheduling? Our expedite request was approved, CC 04.15.17. I called NVC and they told me they don't have a timeline on when it will be send, she even asked a supervisor.  Anyone has any experience with this kind of scenario?

What kind of expedite did you get? Was your case sent directly to the embassy or are they only going to expedite your interview?

Ahmed and I are in the process of packing.... we want to take our samsung computer monitor as we have the box and could pack it easily in the luggage. Is it  okay to travel with it into the US (will their be issues with customs) or should we just leave it with a relative?

We don't mind leaving it behind, but it's fairly new and of course we would like to have it if we can. Any thoughts?

I wouldn't pack it. Customs gets weird sometimes and they will make you open your entire suit case just to check that one thing.

NVC had to review our case first before sending it to the embassy. Now the embassy is in charge of scheduling our interview.

I would call the embassy directly and see they have to say. If the CC was done in April and your interview was approved for expedite. You should've heard back by now.

Good morning all,

I have just received a case complete on July 19. How long before they send an email correspondence and what does it say.

I got CC June 13 and I just got email correspondence today, it stated:

Dear Sir/Madam,

The National Visa Center (NVC) received all the requested documentation for this immigrant visa case.  The applicant is now in the queue awaiting an interview appointment overseas, where a consular officer will adjudicate the applicant’s visa application.

NVC schedules appointments one month in advance.  The U.S. Embassy tells us what dates they are holding interviews, and NVC fills these appointments as they become documentarily qualified.  Most appointments are set within three months of NVC’s receipt of all requested documentation.  However, before applicants in a numerically limited (preference) visa category can receive an appointment, their priority date must also be current.  This can delay receipt of an appointment.  You can track your priority date using the Visa Bulletin on travel.state.gov.

When an appointment is available, we will notify the applicant, petitioner and attorney (if applicable).  The applicant can prepare now by reading about the embassy’s interview requirements online at nvc.state.gov/interview. Thank you for your patience.

The embassy may require additional documents at the interview.  For example, if the following three items are all true, the applicant must bring a new police certificate to the visa interview:

•    He or she is more than 16 years old;

•    The police certificate submitted to NVC was obtained more than one year ago; and

•    He or she still lives in the country that issued the certificate.

The applicant should not make any travel arrangements, sell property, or give up employment until the embassy has issued a visa.

Sincerely,

National Visa Center
