At NVC there are two types of expedites and whether you are granted an expedite is determined by the embassy, not NVC.  The first type of expedite is where the embassy agrees to take the entire case from NVC.  In effect, you are eliminating the up to 11 week processing time.   The second type of expedite is an interview expedite which is what I was granted.   In this type of expedite, NVC completes it usually processing of the case, up to 11 weeks.  After the case is complete at NVC, NVC does not schedule the interview but sends the file directly to the embassy.  The embassy schedule the interview.  It should be noted that the process of sending the file is not the sending of a physical file but the file is sent electronically.   There are many expedites granted and in my case it took 2 weeks from case complete for NVC to send the documents to the embassy.  However, once the embassy received the documents it took two days for them to schedule the interview and our interview was scheduled for one week later.

I just called NVC and they told me to contact my consulate in India and ask them what the further process would be. My original scan date was March 3rd but I had recieved a checklist. So I think instead of sending the checklist documents to NVC my husband will take it to the interview once it's scheduled?

Question, has anyone received a checklist after the case has been completed? CC 06/15, this morning (6/17) at 1:14am we received an email stating that we need to request 2 police certificates and bring them to the interview.  We are assuming it might be because they are expired, due to the fact that NVC takes forever to process and some of the certificates are only good for 3 month.

Does anyone heard about that before?

Hello all....

My family has been expedited out of NVC directly to the London Consulate. The CEAC has updated to "READY". My wife has made MED appointments and managed to electronically set up her interview for July 5th.

Do any of you have any insight on the Consular process now? Ie. what happens at the Consulate vs NVC? All I know basically is their case files were pulled and sent immediately to

London. I keep reading about all the different checks. Do you know what the consulate looks at as far as background checks for the beneficiary and petitioner? I am an Airline pilot so quite used to theFeds poking around just wondering. Keep reading about AP and SAO. I am originally from the UK but grew up in the USA.

I received a checklist from NVC because I submitted the wrong kind of police report. But its good that they are letting you bring it to the interview and didn't ask to send it to NVC becasuse that would take another 11 weeks for them to review.

Is there a reason why the status of my case has not changed on CEAC?

If it reads "Submit Documents" - it would remain the same until your Case Complete.

At your Case Complete what we observed is - it would change to "At NVC"

People who have made through the POE - Can you please tell me if the consular officer asks you to confirm your US address again at Port of Entry?

I might move into a new address(not sure as of now)  hence the question. I want to know if we are allowed to modify our address at POE.
