Wow I have a checklist for incorrect info on I-864 so I need to bring a new one with 2016 IRS transcript. i’m worried that i might not get it in time

I believe that the beneficiary can take a photocopy of the new I-864 and tax transcript. I received the same checklist. You should receive an e-mail with the appropriate instructions on how to proceed. On mine they state that it does not have to be the original.

Do not send the corrected form and documents to NVC. Instead, give all requested

documents to the visa applicant, who should present them to the consular officer during the

visa interview. Don't forget to sign your Form I-864 by hand. Your signature cannot be typed or

electronic. The applicant may bring a photocopy of the signed form to the interview.

It really depends on how busy the embassy is. Normally it is scheduled a month in advance of your scan date. Just like the rep explained, they tend to correspond with embassies about the slots opened for interviews toward the beginning of the month.

Congrats :) i hope you'd get your SSN and greencard quickly :)

Thank you! I hope so as well. I already have a SSN from when I was a student and I was told it will not change so I think only card reissuance is left (I have my old card too so I will try it out today for an ID application...)

Question for people who have already had POE:

My husband is planning on traveling on Tuesday! For the customs form-I'm finding that he should still fill out as a visitor. Did you need to list out the clothing/jewelry/personal items you brought for your own use? Was there a duty on these items? I am having a hard time finding info on this part and trying to get him as prepared as possible. 😊 Thanks for your help!

Nope, for as long as he didn't bring too much, and didn't exceed $10,000 cash. Best of luck to your husband

Just list things he brings as gifts, not things you have owned for a while.  When I filled out the form for my wife and I, I only gave the dollar on things that we bought that we were giving as gifts. You do not need to list individual items, only if they are very expensive.  Hope this helps.

same thing I did, I brought all the US and non-US cash, as long as it within 10000USD worth, then u don't need to report it, but better know how much u take with u, in case they ask

for the jewelry, most of mine r gifts from family, so I just told the custom, I had jewelry with me, but they r gifts and I don't know how much they cost. I did carried the jewelry in my hand luggage, in case they wanna look at them (but they didn't)

good luck!!

Hello all,

Just wanted to check how long has it been taking the NVC to review documents lately? I got a checklist and I'll be sending the requested doc next week and I'm just hoping it won't take them another 11 weeks to review.
