We we're let in at 9:40 for 10:00 AM appointment and I was out by 9:53.

Please remember to bring your passport size photos for appointment, because even though the website and appointment confirmation page states otherwise, they will ask for it. Although if you don't take it with you, it won't make any difference.

 

Now waiting for the Consular Interview tomorrow at 7:30 AM IST.

Guys, any idea if there are extra fees I've to pay at the Consulate or later on in the US for any extra documentation?

 

As I understand, I only have to pay for Medical and then once the interview is done and after POE, I can go an apply for Social Security / Green Card and pay for those in the US?

 

Is there anything else besides this or any fee I can pay at the consulate to be able to start the  green card / social security process earlier?

You have to pay green card processing fee of 220 $ after you receive your Visa and before POE.

Another thing guys, those waiting for interview dates,  I advise you to call often. They say they give you a month to prepare for interview.. We are getting 3 weeks  If I hadn't called yesterday still would've not known.

I just received email stating that my Visa is available for pick up. I will go get it tomorrow as it is around 6Hrs drive away.

I really am and I finally don't have to alter my travel plans. I booked my tickets for June 20 about a month back. I am planning to surprise my wife. I haven't told her that I will be travelling on 20th. All the plans are coming to fruition. I guess if I selected my hometown for Visa pick up, I wouldn't have had to travel to Mumbai again but I didn't want to take any chances with my travel plans and thought it was worth one more trip to Mumbai.
