What I have understood from your post is, your father has his interview scheduled but not your mother. Now that the embassy has approved the expedition request and you have her CC, I suggest you give them a call to check whether they have given her a date or you need to schedule it for her. I don't think this approval means she can go for the interview the same day unless they confirm you the same. Just call and check with them. Good luck.

Thank you for your input! I guess I will give the consulate a call next week to ask for my mother's interview date. Hopefully it is. Good luck to you too!

CASE NUMBER:

VISA CLASS:

F1

YOUR CASE IS CURRENTLY AT:

NVC

FOREIGN STATE OF CHARGEABILITY:

BAHAMAS, THE

Summary Information

There are five steps you must take before the National Visa Center (NVC) can schedule your visa interview at a U.S. Embassy overseas. You should complete steps one and two online using the table at the bottom of this page:

  •

Step 1:

There are two types of fees. Click the “Pay Now” buttons to pay any required Affidavit of Support fees or Immigrant Visa Application fees. Note the application fee must be paid by each person who is immigrating, and cannot be paid until after NVC has reviewed the Form DS-261 you submitted in Step 1. More details are online in English and Spanish.

  •
  •

Step 2:

After you pay the Immigrant Visa Application fee, please allow NVC one week to process your payment. You will then be able to access the visa application form online (Form DS-260). Click the “Start Now”button to begin. Instructions are online in English and Spanish.

After you have completed these two steps, you should gather and submit all required documents to NVC:

  •

Step 3:

Your petitioner should complete the appropriate Form I-864 (Affidavit of Support) and collect evidence of his/her income. Instructions are online in English and Spanish.

  •
  •

Step 4:

Each visa applicant should collect the required civil documents, such as birth certificates. Instructions are online in English and Spanish.

  •
  •

Step 5:

Submit all of the required documents from Steps 3 and 4 together in one package to NVC. Instructions are online in English and Spanish.

NVC will review your forms and documents once you have completed all five steps above. NVC will contact your agent to tell you if there are additional items required or if visa pre-processing is complete. You can find out how long it is taking NVC to review applicant documents at the links provided in Step 5 above.

If you need to change the attorney of record on this case, please contact the National Visa Center.

NVC representative told me that NVC has not transferred my mother's file to the consulate yet and that could take up to 2 weeks, so that's why I thought about waiting until next week.

I am not sure if the NVC rep. was telling me the truth. She was very short and rude.

I'd like to get a definite answer to start making arrangements for their travel.

Hello, im wondering do we have to get mail from embassy, with checklist for interview?  Or everything we need to bring is wrote in p4 letter?

P4 letter is general letter for everyone

I did receive a letter from embassy, similar to P4, just some different request specific from the embassy (a document issued from my country)

and when I attended my interview, the officer asked me to put my document in order in accordance the embassy email

I am not sure if the embassy in ur country is going to send u one, if not, u still can follow the checklist in P4 letter

hope the info helps

good luck!

MY HUSBAND WENT TO MEDICAL TODAY:  NOT GOOD NEWS

Hey guys.

As some of you know, my husband has his consular interview scheduled for next Wednesday (July 5).

Well, he went today to get his medical done, and the doctor said everything was fine, but he needs to have a TB Cultures test taken, and the results will be ready in 9 weeks. The doctor told him to go to the interview as scheduled and gave him a paper for the embassy that says medical results will be ready after 9 weeks due to additional tests.

We are very sad, but well, we'll just have to wait, hoping that the test results are negative.

I am travelling to Colombia tomorrow night because I want to be with him at the interview. What I'm not sure is if they at the embassy won't interview him at all, or if they will interview him and put the case on Administrative Processing until the medical results are ready.

Just wanted to share.

A sputum culture can take 1 to 8 weeks to provide results. Rapid sputum tests can tell if a person has TB within 24 hours. A test may be done when: A person is thought to have TB, but confirmation is needed before sputum culture results will be ready  but he still needs to go to the interview.....

Sorry about that it's realy a setback on the tb culture but I think not sure though the interview will go on but not issue of visa untill the culture results comes in!

the culture takes 8 weeks to their tests I think by 4 weeks they might know if it's a false alarm or its positive!
