The last two times I called (last week, and the week before that) asking if I have been scheduled for an interview I was told no, to wait, and that I will be notified when it has been scheduled.

QUESTIONS:

1. Is this the same response people are getting?

2 If it is, are we still calling to ask? Even If we are being told to just wait until we hear from them? (I just want to make sure that is what everyone else is doing, and I am not being particularly "difficult" for them.)

3. For those of you who called and got an interview date confirmation, how long after the phone confirmation did the email confirmation come? (I know for the CCs it is about 1 week from phone confirmation to email confirmation. Is this the same for interview schedule?)

Thanks

That's fine. I used to call them daily, so it is okay.

I did not have a CC emails, because I directly got an interview letter. It took 5 days from confirmation over phone.

Thanks

You will have it soon, don't worry. Start gathering documents!!

I never thought this was possible - because when I had a tourist visa appointment, they did not offer me a choice of language for interview. I thought it was always at the time of making an appointment( online) that you were given a choice.

Yes, even I think it's hard to change, But @KaurN try calling the Embassy helpdesk and see if they can make a change for you.

URl - http://www.ustraveldocs.com/in/in-main-contactus.asp#contactinfo

Yes. He did. I thought it can only be chosen at the time of appointment.

Hope this helps! :)

What's this? Oh it the same link where we registered for appointment (us travel). Sorry couldn't find any information here related to language change. Lol.

Or you just wanted to share the customer care details of us travel? That's easily available in the appointment confirmation itself.

@KaurN- as mentioned by me earlier, you can't change the language on the same appointment, however you can cancel this apya d reschedule a new one altogether with your preferred language.

Alternatively, at the embassy when you raise your concern related to language change, they may provide you a translator/interpreter if available. You may have to wait longer for one to be available as they would assign one for you as you chose English, however it's not a hard and fast rule that you can give interview only in the chosen language. The reason why they ask you for language preference is, based on the number if interview in the local language they assign translators in particular slots. Choosing a local language during the appointment booking guarantees you a translator.

When your husband goes for Biometrics to Nehru Place, tell him to raise his concern there that he wants to change his language preferences for interview. They may be able to inform the embassy about the change before the interview. People at Visa application centre at Nehru Place are very helpful. Personal experience with them multiple times.

Hi, it's up to the embassy to release their interview dates/slots..  The NVC is waiting for them, just as we're waiting for the dates from the NVC. They're our middleman..

@JessieABC sorry to hear about the invalid checklist. Hope you successfully escalate it to the supervisor and get it resolved. If you have no additional document to provide then I don't see any reason why they would take another 11 weeks. hopefully they would resolve it over the phone. Good luck and do keep us posted about the progress.

Thanks for the uplifting words. I plan on spam dialing Nvc and have already called twice this morning. Seems like this was definitely an error on their part but have yet to connect with a supervisor 59 confirm.

What I've discovered:

First rep I spoke with automatically assumed I checked off a "yes" somewhere on my ds 260 within the security section related to criminal offenses. She was wrong but apparently many of the checklists are based on your responses to certain questions on your ds260.

Second rep said the same. From the second rep, I've come to realize no specific notes are included for any of the calls to NVC from that it was escalated to a supervisor for review - most likely for data protection purposes.  This explains why reps on follow up calls to the NVC have no insight into information or discussions on previous calls.

hope that's informative for others going through this painful process! Will provide updates as I go along and will update the tracker @JBMG when I get home :)
