Hi all,

In one last once over, I see the instructions say if a field doesn't apply to you, enter N/A.  Did anyone get away with leaving blanks?  Otherwise I guess N/A in everything from spouse 2 to preparers signature.  Just seems like an awful lot of N/A's.  I didn't know if the USCIS officer would really care or if it's just a guideline.  Thanks!

That will work, with or without the slash.  However for complete sections of the form that are not applicable or where NONE is the correct answer, just give one answer NA or NONE, and it will be clear the rest of the questions in the section are also none or N/A.

USCIS is not really very picky about this but for example, when asked to enter previous spouse information, the question is applicable but the answer is NONE, rendering all other spaces asking about former spouses N/A, so leaving them blank is fine.  Same thing for the preparer information.  Where NONE is the correct answer, enter NONE.  Exceptions would be where asked for a middle name.  The old forms would allow my recommended ---- but the new ones won't so type No Middle Name.  None is actually a name in more than one language. It's pronounced Naw Nay. ;)
