Mother saves sons from cliff fall..

Two children were dragged from a car moments before it plunged more than 220ft (67m) down a cliff in Cornwall.

It is believed one of the boys may have let the handbrake off the 4x4 vehicle at Polpeor Cove, on the Lizard.

The family, from Gloucestershire, were on holiday when the accident happened at about 1417 BST on Thursday.

The mother freed the children, thought to be about five-years-old, before the car went over the cliff. The family is shocked, but unhurt.

Recovered possessions

Falmouth Coastguard said all the family's belongings were in the vehicle when it hurtled over the cliff edge.

A spokesman said most of its contents had been recovered - some by boat and some by the coastguard cliff rescue team.

"The car is all there, but they won't be driving home in it," he said.

"We understand the mother managed to pull the children out just before it rolled over the edge."

Hmmmm...I have to admit, point very well taken Rch..but I have to say...if therewas ANY doubt and I only had a matter of 5 seconds before my son went plunging over the cliff...I think I would make the decision that would for SURE make sure he was safely out of the car and worry about the car later...ya know?? I hear ya tho..darn women! hehehe
