You are better off just putting clips - all that binder will do is cost postage and then get thrown in the trash. Up to you though :)

Anything you send needs to be easily scannable. While it may not look as nice, some clips (the kind that snap to hold the papers together) would be more effective and probably make some poor data entry person's day slightly better. :)

In preparing your packet, please take note of the following:
  • Do not use binders or folders that cannot be easily disassembled.
  • Use ACCO fasteners to hold together thick or bulky applications or petitions. Two-hole punching the top of the material for easy placement in the file is appreciated.
  • The use of tabs assist in locating items listed as attachments. The tabs should be placed on the bottom and not the side for ease in filing.
  • Avoid using heavy-duty staples; instead use ACCO fasteners or heavy clips.
  • Avoid submitting originals unless specifically required. Avoid submitting oversized documentation when possible.

I wish I saw this a month ago. I used ACCO fasteners because I scanned everything before I sent in and the staples were killing my scanner at work lol. Then I used post-it notes as tabs (but I put these on the longer side of the documents as opposed to the bottom so I made someone's life harder). I then put all the documents in a staples box that I already had (see photo). I taped the box closed and stuck in a fedex pouch.
