I am in the same boat. I think we can expect another letter, this should not affect our right to work.

USCIS will not send out another  extension letter.

The I-551 stamp in your passport extends the GC one more while processing continues.

Is there a thread with more info on this? How did you find out this information?

My extension letter did not state to seek a I-551 stamp if the extension letter should expire, and you know USCIS hasn't been proactively sending out more information to filers.

If you have been following threads regularly and did a google search you'd find this info.   I'd attach links but there are too many .

My letter doesnt state it either nor should it.  Do you think USCIS  wants to advertise and brag their processing times are so bad?

Best you be making an info pass appt and get a I-551 stamp put into your passport.  This extends your GC one more year. Bring the extension letter, expired GC, passpirt and info pass appt confirmation to your appt.

Processing times for ROC are extremely long...12-18 months right now.

We can schedule the info pass for the I-551 already correct? Mine expires August 4th...

Thanks. I have made my infopass appt for May 31st :)

The reason I hadn’t been checking visajourney forums or google is because I was just riding along having faith that USCIS would provide another letter or some other information should the letter expire.

It wasn’t until the letter expiry date started to approach when I started to be more proactive in finding out more.

Lesson learned = don’t rely on USCIS to be informative.

Hi, guys. Just something to share... My friend is July 2016 ROC filer (CSC). She already got her citizenship while I-751 was pending. And last Friday she received her 10 years green card as well...  Such a mess :( :(

I would.  Might take you several tries to get an appt if your field office is difficult to get into.  If its super easy, and you can book into June, I'd book after the 4th.  Some IO are fussy and work by the book.  If you book after the 4th, your in the 60 day mark and I doubt they'll turn you away.

Sounds good! Thank you for the info. Did you apply for N400 or are you waiting? I think we are eligible in June...

... I guess... She finally got it when she doesn't already need it :) Now she she needs to make and INfoPass appointment and turn that "gift" in - you are not supposed to have both, US passport and green card, right?...

just makes me wonder how that is even possible....

Exactly~ It's beyond me how it's even possible. 2 years for a form that used to take 6 months. Ridiculous if you ask me. But hey, good for her. Lol
