Regardless of the outcome, this should actually be considered "good news" to all of us.  It shows that USCIS is actually taking steps to review the our cases.

Just taking feedback from the various threads into account, it may be that the main processing centers are pushing out cases that do not have "red flags" to the local offices in order to expedite and improve the processing dates.  Really hoping this is the case :)

But I hope this does not slow down the n-400 process and other processes..

I-485 (AOS)

04/01/2015 Sent Form I-485.

05/06/2015 Scheduled the interview and mailed its notice.

06/16/2015 The Post Office picked up mail containing the new card.

06/16/2015 The 2 years Green Card was mailed to me.

06/18/2015 The 2 years Green Card in hand.

I-751 (ROC)

03/13/2017 Sent I-751 documents to CSC.

03/14/2017 Package received.

03/16/2017 Check cashed.

03/??/2017  NOA received.

03/14/2017 NOA dated.

03/27/2017 Biometrics. "walked-in"

02/26/2018 Case transferred to my local office.

05/01/2018 Case transferred to another office.

05/03/2018 Case transferred to another office.

05/07/2018 Received letter in mail, my case was transferred to NBC. "Letter's date is 05/01/2018"

06/05/2018 Received letter in mail, they will do an interview at the same time, date and location of my N-400 interview. "06/21/2018"

06/21/2018 The combo interview (with N-400 interview). But it's still pending until they send me the result of this interview.

06/27/2018 The case was approved, with the N-400 approval.

06/30/2018 Received the approval letter in mail.

N-400 (Under 3 Years Rule)

04/02/2018 Applied for N-400 Online. (I-751 is still pending)

04/02/2018 Received NOA Online (Received in mail on 4/03/18).

04/27/2018 Biometrics.

05/14/2018 Scheduled the N-400 interview.

06/21/2018 Interview's date.

Passed the English test and the U.S. history and government test.

But: A decision cannot be made yet about my application. The reason is my pending I-751 file!

06/27/2018 The case was approved (with the I-751 approval), and placed me in line for oath ceremony.

07/09/2018 Oath Ceremony was scheduled.

07/20/2018 Oath Ceremony.

U.S. Citizen and proud!

Mine also shows that it was transferred to my local office yesterday. My notice date is 06/08/2017. The weird thing is: I haven't even received a biometrics appointment yet. I wonder if I will still get a biometrics notice or if they just approve my case without new fingerprints done.

My case was transferred to my local office, I didn't get my biometrics done either, last time I did them was around June 2015. So maybe they will call me for biometrics, for an interview OR directly approved, time will tell.

I'm relieved to hear I'm not the only one without biometrics done. I did my last biometrics in April 2015 so maybe it was recent enough for them to use our old ones.

That's awesome!  Only one of my numbers say this.  Keep us posted, please.  This could be great news for June filers.

Same here - only the "first number" which was given on an Extension letter, showed that my petition was received by my local office. yes, on February 26 :)

Another, "second number" (biometric appointment CR#, - still indicates "On June 19 we received... blah-blah blah... Hard to say what's going on..  Also, a lot of October-November 2016 ROC filers got the same message.

Hi guys,

My status says that *Case was received at my local office* TODAY! This is crazy as I was not expecting that .. but it sure is a good news!

For reference:

I filed on June 14th 2017 at Vermont SC!

My local office is in Atlanta, GA

P. S. I know this is not a glitch (as someone mentioned because she thought it was a coincidence the status change was as the same day she was checking it) So, I use this App “Case Tracker” and it shows as an option

“Last Status Change: TODAY”

while for CR-89 it says

“Last Status Change: 258 days ago”

I hope this is somehow helpful!

Best of luck, everyone!

I am glad people started posting their updates here! Big thank you from me!

I also checked my case and the case number from extension letter says my case was received at the local office(Spokane, WA) on 26th of February. Whereas the one from biometrics appointment  letter says no update(received June 22 2017). California Service Center.

Also I have a friend who filed in March 2017 and I asked her to check her case too and her extension letter case number showed her case was received in her local office today (February 27th). She lives in Maine, not sure what service center they belong to and where the lical office is.

Those pages don't get updated every day, we need to wait a little more to see what has changed. All this information about cases being transferred is relatively new to everybody on this forum.

Check our case status today (with the number received from the NOA letter) and we have been transferred to a field office as of yesterday. Luckily it's in the same city we live in! We haven't had biometrics done either (our other case number just pulls "case has been received"). Our field center reports it's processing applications from January, March, and August of last year. So, ahead of CSC for i751s at least.

It's been nerve wracking just having to sit here and wait, so it's welcomed to see some kind of movement--even if the system's just realizing its overload!

Hey Guys: . I haven’t been on this site since last year. I went online to check the status of my case this evening after seeing all the notifications from this site in my email.

The receipt # on my extension letter shows that “Case Was Received At My Local Office” on 2/27, but the  CR # on my the second letter shows no update at the VSC.

I never received any letter from VSC notifying me that my case was transferred to the local office.

Questions:

1.       Do you have any updates as to why they are transferring cases to the local office.  Is this info accurate?

2.       Why didn’t they update the CR # to show that the case was transferred?

3.       How can I speak to a tier II person that everyone recommends on the site? We sent our application to the VSC. Do you know the number?

1.  No one on the forum knows at this point.  We're all guessing.

2.  See #1

3.  I recommend waiting for the dust to settle and see.  People flooding the call center are not helping the situation and it seems like even the tier1 and tier2 support personnel are in the dark too

Some people are saying this is a system glitch while others are saying its legit.  We're all guessing at this moment.  Wait it out and we'll know for sure in the coming days.

I just had my biometrics done at my local office Feb 15, 2018. My filing window was early June 2017. I just checked online and it also looks like my local office has received my form I751 as of Feb 26, 2018.

Hoping that this speeds things along!!!

I filed I-751 in the mid of August 2017, today checked the status using number from 1 year extension letter it shows my case was received by local office. Does anyone know how long it usually takes from this point to receive 10 year green card/interview appointment/denial?

I'm reading between the lines here and it seems to indicate that an officer at the local office will begin to review the case.  Seems like USCIS has offload the process to the local offices.  This is welcome news as we were not expecting any update for at least another 6+ months being a CSC filers.  Goodluck everyone!!!!

I know, looks like so many ppl get the status "your case was received at a local office on Feb 26" lol

I got the same status, filed my case in the mid of August 2017
