You are inputting the wrong number. You have two case numbers associated to your ROC application one that identifies your extension letter you can see it at the top as "receipt number" and another one for you actual ROC application that one you can find in the notice of action for your biometrics appointment is side by the side to the one your extension letter has. When you input that one it will give the "case was received" status everyone has.

well both numbers now say "Case Was Received At My Local Office"

Based on the massive amounts of posts on the forums, I decided to check and my case was sent to my local office as of today 2/26/18.  I read a post from a fellow applicant to where she called to see what the message meant and the Tier 2 officer told her 'congratulations, you've been approved'.  So here's hoping that all of our cases get resolved in a much speedier manner.  I wouldn't be surprised if our cases don't get resolved in the next month or so.  Before the backlog cases were taking 9 months to resolve and we are all on month #10.   Again, it might be wishful thinking but I am an optimist at heart.  Gotta keep our hope's up.

That's awesome!  Only one of my numbers say this.  Keep us posted, please.  This could be great news for June filers.

I just checked today my case number and seems that it was sent to my local office too. But was it a coincidence that I just checked today (Feb 26th) and the status shows the date as the 26th too? Could this be an automated thing that shows the same date as when you check your case status? if that makes sense.

I'm reading between the lines here and it seems to indicate that an officer at the local office will begin to review the case.  Seems like USCIS has offload the process to the local offices.  This is welcome news as we were not expecting any update for at least another 6+ months being a CSC filers.  Goodluck everyone!!!!

Jimbo09, I was thinking the same thing but then realized that we all seem to be getting the same message.  Quite a coincidence that everyone is too, if that's the case then what work will VSC and CSC be left with if they've sent all the I-751 cases to field offices.  Guess my next question is "Is there a difference between field offices and local offices?"  Perhaps this may help us understand 'at your local office'.  Fingers crossed that you're correct.

Just checked the status. It still shows case was received on June 13 2017, even though I've received a biometrics waiver. Live in SF, CA. Anyone else experiencing the same? Should I call USCIS and ask for a level II support?

For me my Field Office is the California processing Center and my local office is Chatsworth, CA which is where we went for the biometrics portion of the process.  For some reason I have a gut feeling that this is not a glitch and we are in fact making progress on our cases.  I mean its not like we filed last month, we have been waiting for 9+ months, about time things started to move for all cases.  This process should be taking from 6-8 months normally, not 18 as it has been taking for some.  Again, i am an optimist.

Mine also shows that it was transferred to my local office yesterday. My notice date is 06/08/2017. The weird thing is: I haven't even received a biometrics appointment yet. I wonder if I will still get a biometrics notice or if they just approve my case without new fingerprints done.

"I have two guesses...

1. I remember reading on one of the other threads (nov 2016 filer?) that someone had a visit to their home from USCIS and was told they were approved by the officers who paid their home a visit. So maybe, in these times of increased scrutiny, CSC is sending the applications to local offices to send people out to confirm the application details or collect more information.

2. They are trying to make a dent in the back log by sending out some applications to local offices."

Bill & Katya wrote

"Quite possibly number 2, but reading through the other thread, it sounds like those filing in Mid-2017 are also seeing the same message, so not sure what it might be.  Another possibility is that there will be more I751 interviews based on whatever new policy that may have been created.

Doesn't really matter for my wife as she filed the N400 which seems to be moving at a 6 month pace right now, so hopefully all will be done by August this year and we will be done with USCIS."

These are 2 quotes from December 2017 filers.  Looks like many of us are getting the same messages.  I wonder if there is some truth to the above.  Anyone shed some light on "that new policy created" theory?

Regardless of the outcome, this should actually be considered "good news" to all of us.  It shows that USCIS is actually taking steps to review the our cases.

Just taking feedback from the various threads into account, it may be that the main processing centers are pushing out cases that do not have "red flags" to the local offices in order to expedite and improve the processing dates.  Really hoping this is the case :)
