thats REAL customer service!

That's what I'm thinking of right now.... I wish I remembered that USCIS guy's name, but anyway - big thanks for what he's done.

It is rare to find a gem like that. That's why I always asking names of people that I talked to regarding their outstanding performance of customer service. They should get rewarded even just a nice comment on social networking.

Yeah, that guy is really nice!

Some people could really make life a little bit easier for others, like this gentleman at USCIS; but some others could do real harm to others, like "the girls" at the post office.

Now i wonder how USPS's Informed Delivery works: who scans the mails? Hope mails are not scanned by delivery man/woman, but by someone else or by system.

You are right. I wish those people, who answer phone calls FIRST - were trained a little better. In this case we wouldn't bother a Tier 2 IO, or supervisor..

Interested too. Every day I receive en email from MyUSPS, and see what mails/packages are coming. And I've seen everybody's delivery at our address. Well,  at least I've thought so.. But after what I've learnt today  - seems like mails are scanned by delivery person..

The lady at our Post Office, "the nice" one :) said that she did put my son's name... somewhere and that now "girls" will see he lives with us...Don't know..

There is a guy here, at VJ, geowrian..would be great if he came with some inputs  - he or works or used to work for USPS..

The mails in Informed Delivery should be really scanned by others or system automatically, NOT by delivery man/woman, so there is sort of accountability for mail delivery.

first tier of customer service representatives at uscis might not have much information but very general ones, i guess they dont really have much access to cases for various reasons, such as, due to security concern.

Well still - very often they are useless even with general ones.. like, for example, yesterday issue about I-865 , if a USC need to submit the Form or not..General question and the access to an individual's case is not required. at all. But they had no idea about the form! So, result - a Tier 2 IO has been bothered to answer, when he/she should not have been , at all.

The same with me, 2 weeks ago, when I tried just to figure out when we should expect verification of inclusion of a dependent... First, again - no clue what i was talking about, and to addition to that I was told to apply for I-131, Travel Document if we want to travel...  Really?!  During ROC stage?!!!  Yes, after that I requested to be transferred to a Tier 2 to talk. And believe me, I don't "enjoy" doing that...I understand how busy they are.

That's why I wish the first people were trained better, at least a little, and I'm sure, a lot of us would not ask to  talk to higher level IO...

Well, people that sent in their documents after my date already got biometrics letters and I haven't. Making me worried. I don't want to miss my appointment because my letter didn't arrive on time. Any thoughts? Should I wait till it's officially 30 days since as their instructions say and then schedule an infopass?

We are on the same boat, people that submitted their documents after me already received their appointments, seems like at some point the documents at CSC lost the order as they arrived. I hope we get our appointments soon.

I would call, guys...  to check if biometric has been scheduled or not. Just to make sure you are not missing your ACS appointment because the mail has not been delivered on time...

I called the customer service line. Tier 1 people can't look up anything without a case number, that is ironicly on the biometrics letter. The answer was standard it can take up to 30 days, so wait.

Normally it's the local USCIS office that sends out and schedules biometrics appointments, so I don't know, maybe calling them is a better idea. I don't even know if that's possible or everyone hs to go through this national customers service line.

You have to go through this national line...

Yes, it is hard to get a Tier 2 on hold, and 30 days is a standard answer.. But CSC usually takes less than that..

Maybe due to the holidays, 4th of July. USPS is experiencing some delay with delivering mails - mine was sent on June 30, and I got it on July 10.. Usually it takes about 2-3 days, but in this case my ACS letter  has been "floating out there" for 10 days...

Hopefully, yours will find soon and on- time.

Yeah, I agree. My local office is only 45 mins away and they are not slammed. I am sure it has been scheduled already and sent out, I just don't get why the letter hasn't arrived yet. I had a change of address some time ago. Maybe they sent it to my old address. Luckily my mail is still being forwarded to my new address and it just takes longer and that is my  only reason to stay more or less calm.

I guess I would just schedule an infopass at my local office if I don't receive anything 30 days after my NOA-1 date.
