We had our interview on Monday at the Chicago office. Fairly straightforward, she looked through our file (which was huge! Crazy to see all our info dating back to our K1 visa in 2014), asked a few questions. It was all very relaxed. She said she would look through our file later in the day and then make a decision and if we hadn't heard anything in 90 days, to reach out to them. Our case status still says "received by local office." So, who knows. She also said that citizenship interviews are happening even quicker, about eight months after file date. Had to laugh at that one! But I'll keep my fingers crossed too 😂

Do you know why you had an interview?  Was there something amiss in your I-751 application or not enough supporting information?  Of were you just randomly selected?    Also why would it take another 6 weeks to hear something?  This makes no sense to me but maybe that is a worst case scenario.  Anyway, I hope it all goes well from now on and you get the good news very soon.

I'm assuming we were just randomly selected because we have a really standard case and they didn't ask for any more evidence. I also thought it was weird that it would take that long to hear anything and that the website wasn't showing any updates. But that's uscis for ya!

Like some others here, receiving my GC was not without incident.  The tracking showed it to be delivered on the morning of the 18th of September, so I had C head down to the mailbox to grab it.  Well.. it never arrived.  To make a very long story short..  The mail carrier bundled my Green Card with the mail to go to a nearby Immigration Lawyer, who then attempted to deliver it back to me, but I missed the call from the call box of our building. He then took it to the Post Office, which put it back into circulation, and it finally arrived on Friday, September 21st.

Nothing like a nail-biter to finish off the process.

So on September 21, my status changed to the GC being dropped off with USPS. USPS tracking says the card will be delivered today. I did an InfoPass and the officer said more RoC applications are getting interviews, but she didn't elaborate if those are the cases in which the applicants also filed N400. From what I was told, N400 requires an interview and when you file N400, USCIS will combine the two applications. I did not file N400, and RoC was granted without an interview. Good luck all.

hi, guys!

I got an e-mail, well, two e-mails actually.

1 - that on Sept. 13 they mailed my card

2 - that on Sept. 14 the Post Office picked up mail, containing the card!!

I'm CSC filer, with June 19 NOA1 date.

I also see through USPS account 2 priority mails are coming to our address. Both sent from the same place at the same time. Hope, 2 cards or approvals have been sent - my son's and mine

Anyway - such a relief!!!!! Time to think about N-400 filing. :)

Congratulations and Best of luck both of you......
