Congratulations to all who have received approval in the last few week or so.  I believe that most of these are from the California Service Center (WAC172x) where the x is either a 5 or 6.   Our number begins with WAC1727.   So I hope our time is coming soon.  Does anyone know if the numbers are duplicated between EAC and WAC?  In other words, could someone with the California service center have the same number as someone in Vermont - with the difference being only the first letter (E or W)?

I think the answer is no but I am not sure.

It also seems that the Vermont office was approving the applications quickly a month ago or so,  and now is on hold while California office is getting the attention.    Why this happens I do not know but the office might be focusing on other things for a while.   This might explain why some of you are waiting on the Vermont center even though getting an approval should be a slam dunk.   They are simply not looking at the applications.    It will be interesting to see if the Vermont approvals start up again and the California office goes quiet.  I hope not because we sure would like to get approved so we can plan on some travel and not worry that it will conflict with a request for an interview.

BTW, we received the 18 month extension notice but not the "official" letter.  Others have received this too and then got approved right away.  We will see - so good luck to us all!

I’ve been on the phone twice with USCIS but not sure what Tier 2 is. Can you explain?

Expand

Hi Oliver,

From the USCIS website:

3. Live Assistance - Tier 2

If the customer has spoken with the CSR at a Tier 1 Contact Center and has not been able to obtain a resolution, the call may be escalated to a Tier 2Contact Center if applicable.

Tier 2 is staffed by USCIS officers with access to applicable USCIS systems. USCIS officers may also escalate callers to a supervisor when necessary.

4. Live Assistance - Tier 2 (Supervisor)

When appropriate, the USCIS officer may escalate the call to a supervisory USCIS officer. Calls will be routed to a supervisor when:

Customer requests to speak to a supervisor;

Customer is unusually upset and believes the proposed resolution is improper; or

The matter requires urgent or expedited assistance by another office to resolve in a timely manner.

A USCIS Tier 2 supervisor has the ability to contact USCIS field offices, asylum offices, service centers, and the National Benefits Center through designated points of contact to address any issues that require immediate action or direct assistance.

I got the original extension letter about a month ago, but this is separate from that. I actually got an e-mail and text msg that my case status has been updated, and on the website, it has changed to APPROVED. It says an approval notice will be mailed. I'll post when I get the notice and/or GC.

Let me explain myself better.

I received an official 12- month extension letter

Then few months later I received my 18-month but it was just a paper copy.

so my question is, for the ones been approved for GC. Does it happened to y’all to received a copy of the 18-month Ext letter and still being approved.

Yes. I have the 18 months extension, received in August. However, I did not get the 12 months letter. Instead, I made an Infopass appointment and went in to get my passport stamped (I-551) in July for a year. And today, I got the email and text (I signed up for both) that my case has been approved.

Was your 18- month a paper copy? Or the official watermarked letter?

I am almost certain it was a watermarked letter not a paper copy. I don't recall receiving a paper copy but let me check when I get home tonight.
