Anyway, it's normal practice to help an Office with a backlog it's experiencing. 

 

Besides, they don't just send cases out to Vermont - Texas and Nebraska also got involved. Plus - a bunch of local Offices due to huge stream of N-400 filed while I-751 is still pending. 

 

P.S. There are some October-December 2016 California filers, still waiting..THAT IS really sad.  

Sad and disheartening.

I woke up this morning to 2 emails. At 6:30 am DHS sent me a standard "we are still reviewing your case" email and at 7:30 am USCIS sent an email that "A new card is being produced". I am so happy and relieved that it is almost over and I won't have to deal with all this for a while until I decide to apply for a citizenship. I am a VSC filer and it took USCIS 416 days to review my case.  Good luck to everyone who is still waiting!

May 6, 2020 NOA was sent to me. Estimated case completion time December 2020 (7 months)

May 11, 2020 A hard copy of NOA was received

December 22, 2020 Biometric reuse notice was issued

December 31, 2020 A hard copy of the biometric reuse notice was received

February 4, 2021 Received an update online that the interview is scheduled for March 16th

February 8, 2021 A hard copy of the interview letter was received

March 16, 2021 The interview was completed successfully 

March186 2021 The Oath Ceremony and the end of my immigration journey 😊

We have the same experience except that I didn't have an appointment because nothing is available in the San Fernando Valley, CA office. I needed the stamp to travel to Canada for work on that same week so it was urgent and rushed. I was told that they don't do walk-ins anymore for I-551 stamping. I was there at 7am and was instructed to check the Infopass appointment website at 9am because they will open a few more appointments. I needed to act fast so that they can entertain me on that day. Thankfully I snatched one of the few appointments so in the end I got my stamp. Whew!! 😅 I can't wait for this process to be over!!

Unfortunately, it seems like if on files an N-400 as well for Citizenship, then it will delay the whole application because your I-751 has to be delayed to coincide with your Citizenship interview....
