So I got the stamp last week I-551. More relaxed atmosphere and a very nice USCIS Inspector. Very strict security protocol to get in the building and to authenticate me (fingerprint scan, facial scan and questions about me). Spouse was with me too. She asked who he was too and wanted ID.

(you just don't need an ID to vote if one is a USC..sorry had to get that bit of insanity in).

She said there are massive delays and not to hold ones breath unfortunately for I-751. I asked if one submits a N-400, she said they will probably do the interviews together. The online timeline says 7 months left for N-400 processing which means December 2018 at the earliest (probably later) to receive both the approval of both.

Oh well....not stressing it.

Yippee.....one thing out of the way!

Glad you had a good experience!!!  :)

So we passed through CBP last night and the officer thought the year extension was from the receipt date on the letter. I had to tell him that the 1 year extension should be from the expiration date on the green card. I pointed to the first sentence on the letter, then pointed to the date on the green card. After that he gave us no more issues but nonetheless he gave us a mini heart attack!!! Augh.... so ready to be done with all this.

Hello,

Does anyone know how long it takes after the "card was mailed" for the tracking number to show up?

My status changed today to say "card was mailed" so I called USCIS to find the tracking number, the tier 2 representative told me they didn't have it yet but he also told me they would mail it to my OLD address! At that point I start freaking out because I changed it as soon as I moved, more than 3 months ago and I even called several times over the past few months to confirm it was updated. I moved from NYC to Chicago so I am pretty nervous about where my card will end up going.

Thank you!!!!

Edit: to add that I asked the tier 2 to please do something so that it could be sent to my current address and he informed that unfortunately nothing could be done and that I would have to wait until the card is returned to USCIS.

TLDR: How long after "case was mailed" before tracking number shows up?

Seriously?

That would be nice but I'm not believing it until I see a USCIS update stating they're transferring our cases.

So far - it's just one person, from May 2017, who reported the transfer...  Hopefully this is the "start"  :)

Hi all,

Today I received my green card via priority mail. Was in my mailbox didn't have to sign for it. I got approved on the 18th so only took 5 days to arrive.

Now it's in my hand I'm obviously happy but at the same time I can't help but think all that work for this little piece of plastic.

Good luck to the rest of you all. Hang in there CSC filers your time is coming, time goes quick, you'll also have yours soon.

Thanks for all the support on here throughout my 4 year visa journey. Next step N400... I may wait to apply after Xmas so that I can leave the USA without worrying an interview might come through while I'm away.

Congrats! We're July 2017 filers so good to hear. Just been back on checking on others experiences, about to file N400. All the best.

i noted that dhs doesnt update as fast as uscis does

there are so many systems and programs in uscis,  they dont really talk to each others

Can confirm this first hand - just putting together N400 package online and they have a different I-751 status then I've seen on other USCIS Case Status site.  Cheers.

Just an update on this: I received the NOA dated 7/18 of approval AT my current address. So I don't need to worry about the "address change" update on egov site.

Congratulations. Your wait is over.....

Question guys! Or ladies I should say : )

Has anyone gone to get I 551 stamp, but has a maiden name in their passport? When I went a month ago to get it done, my ISO didn't even look at my passport, she sent me away because I was too early. I have an infopass scheduled for July 31st. Accepted a new job and I have to show them a proof of work authorization, which that stamp will do.

Thanks in advance :)

You shouldn't have any problems with that. I still have my maiden name in my Russian passport and IO didn't have any questions about it when I went to get my I-551 stamp in June. However, I would advise you to grab your marriage certificate just in case. I had a problem with the DMV because the last name on my expired GC and the last name in my passport with the stamp are different.
