I-751/NOA Questions

Hey everyone,

 

My husband and I sent off our I-751 package on Monday 22nd. My green card expires on June 23rd. I am wondering - if I do not receive an NoA in time, can I make an appointment with InfoPass for an I551 stamp WITHOUT the NoA? I need to be able to drive myself into work and will need the stamp to renew my driver's license.

As far as I know, you cannot make an infopass without the NOA letter with you. What service center did you sent your i-751 application?

I sent my application into the Vermont service center.

no you can't cause the whole point of the stamp is to extend it one more year after the NOA1 extension has done its service. 

Even with the NOA1 and you go in there 1.5 2 months before your GC date is expired, they refuse to stamp it because its too early from the 2nd expiration of the green card. 

 

They received our application on the 10th and I believe by the 14th we had the NOA1 so even if it takes a little longer than that you have nothing to worry about. You should get it max within a month and you have plenty of time.

I'm so stressed about work haha.  I know they haven't cashed our check yet and it's been a public holiday here in the States and whatnot but I just thought I'd ask on these forums and see.  I know most people's timelines say about 2 weeks to receive it. As a side note - do I only need the NOA to go have my license renewed?

@Emmaj yes, just show to them that your conditional status was extended to one year while your permanent green card is in process. Just asked for an DMV employee who is more knowledgeable about the letter If they refuse to renew your DL because of the letter. Because you know some DMV employees were not well trained about what they are doing.

Vermont Srvc Center received my I-751 application May 30, 2017. Does anybody have any idea when will I receive my NoA? is NoA all I need to renew my DL? I really need to renew my driver's license. Help anyone! Thank you.

Oh I think @Lemon23 just answered my questions. But for specifications, I'll just expect within 2 weeks time frame from May 30, right?

Well, how about that! I just received my NoA today. PACKET MAILED May 27, Packet delivered May 30, NoA received dated the next day. Now I can renew my DL.   thank sa lot and thank you, Lord!
