Expediting EAD due to job loss

Hi All

tl;dr; Lost my job and while waiting for EAD to start next job. Any tips/help to expedite the EAD process?

My wife filed my green card application. I am currently on H1B. Here's our timeline

Application send: 4/3/17

Bio metircs: 5/3/17

RFIE received: 4/20/17

RFIE replied: 5/23/17

I lost my job last week but luckily I have a another one lined up that too with a non profit that I can start as soon as I get my EAD

I am trying to expedite the process citing financial loss since we would be dependent on my wife's salary to run the household which for a big city is not enough to run the household.

Would this be a valid reason?

Also I am getting one month severance and since I am on H1B my employer can either keep me employed for the next month or give me my severance pay and terminate me immediately.

Is one better than the other?

Thanks

This is my first time posting, apologies if I missed any forum rules.

Totally. I am in the middle of requesting an expedite based on financial hardship too but this is so I can keep my current job. Because you did your biometrics already, you just have to call USCIS and have them put in a service request to expedite. You will have to send in evidence of the financial hardship. I sent in copies of my rental payments, proof that my health insurance was linked to my job, and evidence of student loan payments. I also wrote a cover letter explaining why my income was absolutely necessary to ensure my family is okay. No word yet but I will keep you updated. Until then, I advise you call USCIS and request the expedited process ASAP.

Thanks folks

I filed for the expedite service and was told to wait since my RFIE(130A) response has not been processed yet. I was told to request expediting again after the RFIE is processed.

How annoying. I also did not send in the 130A and just figured that out so sending today despite not being sent an RFE. I find it odd that they can't process an EAD request without the 130A (isn't the 130A for the I-130?).

I received a reply from USCIS that they want me to send proof for expediting.

I was planning to send the following documents to them as proof

1. Letter of termination

2. Offer letter start date july 3rd

3. Sponsors salary slip

4. cover letter

Is this enough evidence? Is there anything else that I can send?

Thanks
