The official USCIS processing timeline states that they are processing applications as of December 15, 2016. We can tell by the number of January and now some February filers who have posted receiving NOA2 that this isn't a very clear timeline. What it basically means is that in theory they (USCIS) have processed all applications received prior to December 15 (although through some posts on VJ in the December filers thread, we know there are still some waiting before that date sadly). Since the VJ timeline is generated by VJ user imputed data, February filers who have received NOA2 have pushed the current processing time as Feb. 19, but USCIS does not work on cases in a specific order, so there are still January filers waiting for NOA2 and a large number of February filers are still waiting as well.

Overall its difficult to say when cases will be processed, but generally the current wait for NOA2 is around 3-4 months.

Like above, USCIS generally states a rough 5 months time frame while it reality it may only take 2-3 months.

The updates from members here on VJ are just a small number of actual petitioners that are being handled by USCIS.

There are a number of aspects also that can cause conflict in the timelines such as RFE's.

The petitions are also not processed entirely in the order they are received, so while one may have been submitted late January and been approved, an early January submission may just now be being reviewed.

I have an NOA-1 received date of February 2, 2017.  I just called USCIS and they told me that it would probably be about another 1-2 months before receiving an NOA-2.  It also seems to about right given RJandHamid's timeline.

Good luck!

To the OP, processing times on the USCIS website and VJ vary greatly.

There are several VJ posts from members who've filed during specific months ex: November 2016 filers, December 2016 filers, January 2017 filers, etc.

If you haven't already, make sure to follow the post with the month you filed your petition.  It tends to be the most accurate gauge of when petitions begin to be touched.

How come it says they are processing up to February 19th 2017 but, online or others are posting they are only up to December 15th 2016. Is the VJ processing time off ?

The USCIS processing date hasn't been updated sincere March 31st so the December 15th date is outdated.

The processing times were updated last week (May 26). It is a bit confusing, but I am assuming that perhaps they don't have enough statistical data for the work they have done in April and May and so they list "As of March 31st this is what we have been working on..."

They always give a 5-6 month timeline for I-129F processing.
