The USCIS says to send a copy of your birth certificate (front and back). I don't have the original. I only have a certified copy which is only one page (no back). Can I send this?

Hi Tima and Hamza,

It would be great if you had the original copy of the birth certificate, but as far as it is certified and real one than send it and when you go for the interview explain to them the reason why you do not have the original copy.

In case if you can contact your country registration office for the birth certificate they may assist you with the copy.

cheers,

Ragini

If they ask for both front and back, you send both front and back. My husband did that as well despite the back being completely blank. Maybe they want to see what isn't there, that's why they require both. We just wrote on the blank page that it was the back of the BC, to clarify why there was a blank page in the middle of everything.

Send a photocopy of your certified copy (front and back - doesn't matter if the back is blank - and you don't need two separate pages, do a double-sided photocopy). Just don't send the actual certified copy itself.

My birth certificate was only one sided, but I gave them a copy of both front and back (blank page) and just wrote lightly in pencil, "back of birth certificate" - our petition got approved, still.

Yeah that's the thing. I have a copy of the certified copy. Should I write on the back of it that it is blank or should I attach a sheet explaining that it is blank? I don't know if this is a big deal because i'm including my birth certificate and a copy of the pages of my passport as citizenship proof.

I didn't write anything about mine having one blank side. I suggest you just write "blank" on the back side of the copy...no reason to add another page.

You should not include both birth certificate AND passport. You should only use one or the other (if you were born as a US citizen).

TheID page on passport is needed and all pages to show where you have been especially the page showing triip to Morocco

for both of you

Not sure how everyone gets away with copies as they asked for originals from me even death notices (On RFE) for my dad and his dad had to be originals

BTW you will need origianl for your own use / not a bad idea to apply for one / can do online with proof of ID (driving licence and SS card works)

OK. I am a newbie here. I have done a lot of reading while working on my I 129f. The one thing I have discovered is this process is designed to weed out those who do not pay attention and do things precisely as asked.
