My wife had a interview and did everything at america consulate in brazil, she was told to do the waiver I-601,we did that 61 days ago,I received a letter from uscis saying to follow instructions, no instructions came.how long does it take for then to make a decision?the consulate lady told my wife since everything was ok,was going to be around 1 to 2 months.

Don't know if this will be helpful since my case was consular processing.I stayed in America waiting for my I-601 approval. It took 4 months after filing to receive appointment to get finger printed done, a month later approval notice was received.

more like 4 to 8 months

 

the consulate has nothing to do, since the waiver and evidence is sent to the US
