Hi,

Looking for information regarding my current USA f-1 Visa.

I would need to renew my UK passport, but my Visa continues past the expiry date and so, when I renew through gov.uk, do I need to send my current passport with the pictures?

How would I get them to send it back? or do I not need the actual visa page, just my i20 paperwork?

Thank you for your help,

You need the visa for re-entry if you travel outside the US.  Contact the UK government to see if they return your old passport when they isue the new one.  If they do, you travel with both the old and new passports.

You can ask for your passport back. I think there was a box I checked on the online application. You fill this out and  pay online. They you ship them the old passport, new photos, printout sheet from online application and any required documents. I recommend you send it registered delivery, ups was the cheapest when I looked at all the options.   It was super simple. They ship it back via dhl with any documents you submitted and your new one comes in a separate shipment. And I just did my U.K. one and had the new one back in my hands in under 2 weeks. I'm happy and impressed.

AOS from K1

4/20/16: Package delivered

4/27/16: NOA1

5/23/16: Biometrics

6/3/16: Ready for interview status on I-485

7/5/16: SR1 filed (over 75 days)

7/26/16: SR2 filed (over 90 days) - 96 days

Thank you, this is what I was looking for.

I wasnt sure if there was a "box to check" on the application. I am ok with sending it, as I will be in the USA for a few months. Just need to back thats all!!
