UK travel document holder

Hie to all,

 

Please assist if possible. I am a holder of a UK travel document. It is due to expire on the 14 of January 2018. 

Now my question is I planned to travel in August on the 10 August 2017 and have only just been told by my sister in the USA who I was planning to visit that I should check if from my time of travel , I have 6 months validity. Can some one please explain what this means and if I can travel?

 

She also said that I may be granted the visa , but on arrival in the US..I may not be allowed in due to this??!! 

Please assist ...my first time on here. All help will be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.

You'll most likely need to get your passport renewed. 

 

Basically six months validity means you need your passport to be not expiring in the next six months from when you travel.

Would you know if I should cancel my DS-160 application form I sent earlier today applying for the visa? And if there is a need to, and, how to do it. Thanks once again

Your passport has to be valid for 6 months AFTER you intend to leave the USA.
