Hello everyone

My fiancé is from Iran his case was approved Oct 14, 2016

His interview was Dec 18, 2016 and everything was OK there was no talk about him being denied or anything. He was just missing couple of paper works where the councilor told him that he can bring those when he picks up his visa once approved. That we should check online constantly for his statues. His statues has been under administrative processing for 5 months now.

Now my question is that has anyone from Iran specially male applicants who went for visa gone through administrative processing and for how long?

I've asked around and they have said males who go to "sarbazi" or military training go under administrative processing. In couple days it will be his 6 month and I am starting to get worried little by little that is taking too long.

Unfortunately, there is no set time for AP. Most likely, he's going through additional security checks. This is not unusual for certain countries. These checks can take days, weeks, months, or even (rarely) years. There's no way to expedite them, so it's just a matter of waiting it out. It does NOT mean anything is wrong...it's just a matter of going through the process. Best wishes.

Edit: His case wouldn't be approved until after the interview. I'm assuming you meant the I-129F petition was approved on Oct. 14th.

i hope they are not waiting on these.  I eould send.

Good catch...I totally glossed over that. I thought that was sent already. oops~

Yeah, if they're waiting on papers, then he should submit them to the embassy. They won't approve a visa then request the paperwork...that's just not how it's done.

You should contact the embassy directly through email and see what they say . They should be able to let you know what's going on , but if get told you that the visa was aproved I'm assuming they might be doing more background check and then it should be granted .

There might be a misunderstanding that's why they need to contact the embassy directly .

Thats the thing my fiancé did ask them do we send them back to the embassy and the guy who interviewed him said no just take your paper work to the EMPOST where you pick up your visa once the status is changed to ready online. I've tired calling no one answers and when I email ... they respond with automatic response that administrative processing will take 3-6 months but as of today its changed to 3-9 months. I can't seem to get a hold of anyone in Abu Dubai

There is only one number and that is for setting appointment for interview. They keep saying go online. and that they don't have an answer when the case will b updated.

Like she said the interview was in UAE as we do not have an embassy in Iran

Well then whenever he had the interview she needs to contact them . Tó make sure they don't need anything else from them .

Hello

I am also Iranian, Almost all Iranians go through this, it depends on the military training, higher education, government job or even having religious name. It has no specific timeline but it can be up to 15 months for Iranians (based on what i read in Farsi forums)

They ask for documents when administrative processing is done. This is the link of Farsi forum (clearance topic)

https://www.mohajersara.org/forum/thread-1857.html

You can see how long it takes for other Iranians

You're welcome dear friend

It's been 11 months for us and we are at NVC stage now (they received our documents on May 5th and it will take up to 11 weeks to receive a checklist or case complete)

I expect to have my interview in 7 months, and i am almost sure i will go through administrative processing since i have master degree in computer engineering, I won't be surprised if the whole process takes up to 30 months
