I-864 joint sponsor evidence, confused

Hi

My wife's father is going to be a joint sponsor for my AOS (K-1). I am confused what evidence he needs

Most recent 1040

Is this what they want when they ask for his tax return?

His is over 132 pages long, do I need to print all of this?

Does he also need a W2 with this?

He filed this jointly with his wife, does she need an I-864A? (as of this year they are not living together)

I also have

Employer's letter

Pay stubs

Is this enough evidence?

Thanks

If his income is what you are using the wife doesn't fill anything out.

If you don't want to send all the pages then have him order a tax transcript. If you will use a complete return everything that was filed needs to go with it. Yes he will need to give you the w2 - it shows also which part of his joint return reflects his income.

Evidence wise that sounds good. :)

Go to the the I-864 instructions and read what the USCIS tells you about  tax information. It will be helpful and thorough.

Where are you printing his tax return from? 132 pages is probably all the extras that tax programs generate like worksheets and background material that are good for his records but not all the actual tax return. If it says Worksheet, Summary, Comparison to other Taxpayers or last year, Estimated payment forms, payment voucher form, or  Thank you for using H&R Block, that isn't part of the return.

A tax return transcript from the IRS is free and no guessing about all those pages and no W2 has to go with it. However his W2 will be useful in his case since the joint return does not indicate his separate earnings, but the W2 does.

Thanks for the help, answered my questions nicely.

I think I will go for the tax transcripts idea, this looks like the best bet.

Cheers
