After my K1 now there's another important step I need to do. Arrange for B2 Visa for my family(parents and sibling) to attend my wedding in the US. I have following questions , whoever has gone through something similar, please help and guide.

Please keep in mind this is my families first trip abroad.

Ques 1: They are saying in DS160 that reason to travel is Daughter's wedding. My fiance will send an invite letter for the wedding as well , and we will also show a confirmation email from the hall and priest booking. Would this work fine? anything else needed?

Ques 2: Should they book their hotel in advance to show that as well for checkin and checkout dates based on date of our wedding?

Ques 3: In DS 160, there's a quesn "Any relative in US" They would have their daughter i.e. me, once I am in US, but not at the time of filling the DS-160. I'll be travelling to USA betwene their filling of DS160 and their interview. So should they say Yes or No when submitting DS160?

Quesn 4: Should I also send any invite letter or only the US petitioner(fiance) should?

Quesn 5: My fiance stays in City A right now (all his docs have address A) but we're getting married in City B (as we might relocate in future so we wanted to register the marriage in that city. Should be choose PoE as City A or City B for ease of visa interview? Would the officer cross question if petitioner doesnt have any permanent address in the city of marriage?

Also please share if there is any specific format for the wedding invite letter.

Thanks a big ton for all the help :)

hi

they need to prove strong ties to their country, even if you invite them, they have to have proof that they will return to their country. if you send too much, that will only prove that they have more ties to the US than their own country

they shouldn't book any hotels until they get the visas, many times the family of the bride or groom have been denied  for weddings, so there is no guarantee that they will be granted  a tourist visa

always tell the truth in the form

Thanks. My doubt is also that i'll be travelling to USA between parents date of filling DS160 and the date of their Interview.

So should they fill 'Yes' in DS160 or NO, for 'Any relatives in USA'?

Because their answer should be NO at the time of filling and Yes at the time of interview.

Id put yes. During the interview they will see that you're in the USA (as a relative) and they might make an issue of your parents "lying" on the form. I think it's easier to explain why they put "yes" rather than "no".

Saying "yes" would be a lie.   Put "no" because at the time of filling out the application, the answer is no.  At the interview, they can mention the change and that you've been granted a visa and are now in the US.

That way there is no misrepresentation and you are being honest both on the form and the interview and also being honest about any changes from the answers on the DS-160.

You wouldn't want an issue where the CO asks what relative was in the US before you obtained your K1.  What will they say then? "We lied because she was in the visa process so the statement would eventually be true? "

Always be honest.

Parents will be granted or denied visa based on ties to home country.  Letter from fiance etc doesn't hold much weight.

i did send a letter anyway for my parents but they got the visa without VO checking anything!  Asked two questions and thats it.

My parents are financially well off and dad runs a business here + my siblings in Aus and one NZ.  Shows unlikely they would want to stay in the US I guess.

And yes dont worry too much about relatives in US question.  I had put to be son in law amd daughter but i was there (on b1/b2) when i put their application in.

Just honesty will work.

Thanks. But there's another query for the DS160 for the parents' B2.

For the question, the contact person in US, should it be the 'would be son in law' or their daughter who has travelled there on the K1 visa?

The truthful answer when filling out the DS-160 would be "no".

Let us know how they get on.

to the question as 'Do you have any relative in US', if I say 'Yes', and answer as 'daughter', what should I mark as my status?

options are citizen, green card, nonimmigrant and other.
