Thank you very much.  We just got approved last Friday and they will send the 129F and all information to NVC.  I already did the DS-160 and have a number but since they have not received anything yet I guess I will have to wait.  Another question:  I have figured out all the documents and no what I have to do going forward when they give the OK.  Do I need an agent???  I don't think I do but please let me know what you think!  Otherwise she lived in South Africa for 2 years and I think we are going to have to get the police report from there also.  Not sure.

I think we will go ahead with the police in Ghana.  We are 2 to 4 weeks from the US Embassy having all of her information and then they will tell about the getting the medical report.  Anything we can do to make this faster would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

It will take a while for NVC to get your information and process it. Took our application about a month and that seems to be about the norm. Ghana is supposed to send your fiancée a letter with the steps to get an interview (DS-160, Medical, Police Report, etc.) But, it seems a lot of people are not getting those letters including us. Through VJ we found out all the information we needed and went ahead and scheduled our appointment. But you can not schedule it till NVC has sent your application to Ghana and they have received it. After that you will just need your DS-160 confirmation number and to pay the fee at GT Bank. Then you can schedule your interview at the embassy online. I am not sure what a agent is? We didn't use any type of agent and I haven't heard of anyone else doing that either. You can surely do everything yourself if things are straight forward.

Thank you for your advice.  So we cannot go and get a police report before we get the OK?

I think you can get the police report. It is valid for 6 months. You have to have your interview confirmation sheet for the medical though.

Oh perfect but we do not need to bring anything to get the police report.

Hello, I have a question,  my fiance is in Ghana, we sit waiting on our approval. What tests are conducted in Ghana for the k1 visa?

What do you mean by tests? You just need to do your medical exam, get police report and pay visa fee to schedule your interview.

Thank you for the reply.  Very much appreciated!  How do you get a police report from South Africa without going there???

I have no idea. I would google the police department where your fiance lived in SA and try to contact them. Goodluck!

We have applied for the K1 Visa by sending in the I-129F form.  Dec. 20th and Got our receipt number right away.  Got approved on May 22nd and received the I-797, Notice of Action.  We are very excited.  Know its another waiting game after waiting from Dec, 2016 till May 2017.

We are know waiting for the letter with the unique number for our case so that we can set an appointment for the Visa Interview in Ghana.  My question is can we proceed with the police report and or the medical report to makes things go faster.  Is there a way to make this procedure faster and more efficient.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is what is needed and the address where it needs to be sent to. They may have other means to secure a PC.

Try googleing for that information.

I waited patiently for mine. Once i got the date and confirmation(packet containing the instructions and hospitals for medical) i rushed to finish it in one(1) week. I had to pay someone to speed the police report because as you know, there was a long waiting line at the office. My fiancee was here for three weeks and i wanted it all done so i could attend the interview with her and SO I DID.

All the best! Wait for the packet!
