Colombia Embassy

I called the colombia embassy on wed and was told they are no longer taken any visa questions by phone and you can not talk to anyone, all you can do is fax them your questions. In the past you could call on mon and wed between 2 and 4pm there time to talk to someone, My fiance still has not receive her packet 4 yet by mail and not sure what to do. It seems the goverment like to make things harder. Kyle

What???!!! I was counting on that phone call to find out when I could send packet 3 whenever my husband gets it. I hope it's not true.

I recommend you use the "old fashion" way that many of us use. Keep calling the NVC until you get your case number and they can tell you when your petition was forwarded to Bogota. Once you know the petition has been forwarded to Bogota, you can then track it via DHL (that process has been documented many times on the Colombia Club thread). It takes about three business days for the petition to arrive at the embassy. After that wait, about two days and then fax your packet 4 (or mail it or have it hand-delivered). That's it - very simple and it works. No need to rely on a phone call to the embassy. Or, you can play it safe and wait for packet 3 to be delivered in the mail (although that may take a while it your husband lives outside of Bogota).

Yep, that's the thing, my husband lives in Tuluá and mail service there is horrendous. I was banking on eye balling the DHL delivery and then calling the embassy to find out if they got it for sure before faxing in packet 3. And now that we can't call, assuming that the DHL packet they have is ours, is not something I'd like to do.

I am going to try to call again on mon, see what they say. I fax a letter to them on wed and still have not hear back from them.

We did not get packet 4 in the mail and not sure what to do, Our interview is may 9th, I will post what i find out, Kyle
