Hello everyone,

Tomorrow is my Oath Ceremony in downtown Orlando at 9 am. It is going to be a Judicial one.

Does anyone have any idea how long it takes?

My son's end of the school year event is tomorrow at 10:45 am and I don't know if I would be able to make it.

I know it is not the end of the world if I don't go to his program, but it would be nice.

Just wanted to have an idea.

Thanks!

According to this website https://www.flmd.uscourts.gov/CourtOps/NaturalizationCeremonies.htm the official start time of the Orlando's May 25th ceremony is 10am. Is 9am the time they want you to arrive at the ceremony hall?

Once they start ceremonies last usually short ~30-45mins but if it is starting at 10am as they say, it would be very hard to catch your son's event.

Thank you, Charmander, for that link.

It is interesting.

Yes, it says on the notice that I need to be there at 9:00 am.

I am assuming because they need us to give back green cards and other paperwork.

In the notice it also says that I need to bring any other documents USCIS issued to me. Do they mean all the Notices of Action I ever received?

Thanks.

Yes they would ask you to arrive earlier. The bigger the ceremony, the earlier they want you there. You would need to time register, return the signed oath ceremony form and surrender your GC. These are usually first come first served. The first person to arrive, usually gets the naturalization certificate first too. perhaps if you arrive little earlier than 9, and be the first one to get out, you could still catch your son's event if his school is nearby.

No NOAs are necessary, bring your current GC and any other expired GCs, EADs, etc if you still have them. Good luck tomorrow!
