My K1 visa was denied and wanted to know the best way to address it again, met my fiancé in 2013,but before then I had already applied for a B1/B2 in which I stated I was married,in 2013 I applied again for the B1/B2 and still denied, the marriage was not a legal marriage but I stated on the form married in my previous applications that was in 2013,2014 when I applied for the B1/B2.we applied in 2016 for the k1 and was approved and have my interview few days ago and was denied,CO said how was I married in 2013/2014 and was still with my fiancé of which intend to marry now, mean while it was over but since it was not binding by law didn't have documents to prove it was no,more.Another thing was, filling the form the question that says have you been married before we put no?and that is where I think the issue came from. Now my question is,should we re apply for the K1 and correct that error or get married and apply for spousal,if so how soon can we get married and then how long will it take to get approved, sorry it was long...any help will be much appreciated.

Did you face that same black woman CO at the embassy ?

If your marriage is not binding the law, in the eyes of government you are not married. You shouldn't stated there you are married from your first application B1/B2 since when you are applied for this, you are dealing with government not your cultural organization. I am not familiar with culture in Ghana. However, no matter what you did, always remember that, you should have black and white as your supporting. You can't verbally explain to someone else without any proper supporting to support your explanation. Let say when you filled up a form, section of name, birth date, place of birth, do you have supporting to show that it's correct? Yes! Birth certicate. Are you single or married section, do you have any supporting (marriage certificate) if yes, you should choose yes! If you don't have, the answer should be no.
