Hey all,

On a whim, I decided to apply for the DV-2018 back in October 2016 (I had beed here since 2011 as a student) thinking why not just try my chance and see if I can avoid having to deal with work visas and just get win a chance to apply for a green card. Since then, my boyfriend of 3 years proposed and we've gotten married. Currently I have a EAD/AP combo card and am waiting for an interview (not sure when that's going to happen but no rush I suppose, the combo card lets me do pretty much everything I need to).

I've just checked my DV status and it said that my application has not been selected for further processing. Sad, but I guess I'm getting a green card anyway now. Is this lottery application going to interfere with my AOS in any way? Could it come up during the interview?

(Just for honesty's sake: I had no plans to permanently settle here in the US, I was planning on going back to Belgium after graduation and almost had a full-time position lined up for me too. I never thought about marrying and then staying here. The DV lottery was just a "eh, why the heck not" kind of thing. And that's probably what I'd tell the USCIS officer if they asked about it during the interview.)
