Hello, I had my interview today at the Irving, Tx office. Everything went well, a friendly and professional lady called my name 5 mins after my interview time.

-Took oath to tell the truth.

-then she started the test.

-I answered 5-6 questions correctly and passed -the written and oral test.

-She went over my application.

-I disclosed I had a couple of traffic tickets(under $500 and paid) 4 years ago.

-She asked about taxes, I told her I owed some taxes but if was after I sent my N-400 and that I had paid them and told her o had my transcripts if she wanted to make sure, She said it was fine as long as I didn't owe any taxes anymore.

- Then she showed me all my info on a tablet to verify it, had me sign my passport pictures, and said "the pictures will be digitalised on your certificate"

- She made me sign an oath and said I will be saying that oath on my ceremony.

-then she handed me a paper that said I passed the test but a decision could not be made yet :/

should i be worried about this? Is this common??

she made me feel I was going to be approved on the spot but I wasn't.

I asked her why and she said she needed to go over my application one more time, but that she thinks I meet all the requirements and eligibility and I should wait 30-120 days for their decision.

really bummed about this!

anyone with similar experiences??

thank you!

It's a standard procedure and I feel that it seems to happen more with IOE cases. Maybe the IO wants to get supervisor's approval. I think your interview went well and you should soon get a positive update! Good luck!

Thank you! I felt like the interview went great, o so hopefully you're right and I get a positive update soon !

I'm in the same boat. I had my interview on March 20. I feel like everything went well, but at the end got a decision cannot yet be made. My IO told me that my name is listed two ways on my file. My name is listed as "first middle last" and "firstmiddle last." He also told me that they haven't yet received my A file and need that to review. He told me that it can take up to 3 months. It's been about 2 months now and still no update. Hopefully we both hear good news soon!

this happens to a lot of people. I am glad you asked her why. I guess she didn't have chance to go over your case before the interview, that's why she wanted to go over one more time but your case seems trivial, should get an update within 10-15 days. Even though my case was recommended for approval, I didn't get an update for another 10 days either. So don't worry. However, the officer said they have up to 120 days to make a decision. Keep your fingers crossed to hear back oath ceremony scheduling notice soon.

Hey guys, ----just an uptadate-----

I figured I'd wait days or a couple of weeks before checking for any case updates. I received these emails the morning after my interview:

"We recommended that your Form N400, APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION, Receipt Number IOxxxxx, be approved. On May 23, 2017, your case was submitted for quality review. Blah blah blah"

a minute later this one came in:

"We placed you in line for your oath ceremony and will send you a notice for Receipt Number IOxxxxxx, with the date, time, and location of your oath ceremony. You should receive your notice within 30 days of its mailing date."

I'm surprised how fast this happened, I was mentally prepared to wait months before hearing from them (after I had a meltdown from being worried).

THANK YOU FOR YOUR ANSWERS GUYS!

I hope a get an Oath date soon and I don't get an unexpected RFE in the mail one of these days.
