hi, first of all thanks for all the info that one can find on this site, is amazing!

ok..now my question :)

i got married and i will send my AOS (i485/i130/i765) to texas (as it says on i130)

but the other forms say that the forms must be sent for example to chicago.

where do i have to send it? I 130 says

NOTE: If the Form I-130 petition is being filed concurrentlywith Form I-485, Application to Register PermanentResidence or Adjust Status, submit both forms at the localUSCIS office having jurisdiction over the place where theForm I-485 applicant resides.

If I check for my state, it is supposed to be Texas..but...what about the other forms? :) can anyone help me on this?

thanks!!

You send I-130/I-485/I-765 it to the Chicago Lockbox as instructed by the first bullet on the first page of the I-485. So no, you will not send it to Texas.

Ah true. It was 6 am. But they didn't say if they were in that jurisdiction, just that the I-130 said to send to Texas. I-130 says for FL residents to send there too, along with a lot of other states. For all we know, they could not be living in Texas ... they said for their state.

So while I was wrong (and I apologize, I should stay away that early :)) - we still don't know until we know which state.

I sent it to Texas and I got this message today on the package tracking

//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Status: Notice Left

We attempted to deliver your item at 10:50 AM on April 30, 2007 in MESQUITE, TX 75185 and a notice was left. It can be redelivered or picked up at the Post Office. If the item is unclaimed, it will be returned to the sender. Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later.

Maybe it was supposed to be sent to Chicago?? but WHY the USCIS call center CONFIRMED ME that i needed to send it to Texas?

"If you live in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia,Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, NorthCarolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee or Texas,mail this petition to: USCIS Texas Service CenterP.O. Box 850919, Mesquite, TX 75185-0919"

//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

I live in NC..The i130 form (the main one I think...) said to me to send it there. I did not send it to the other addresses because the others were depending on this one! (i485/i765/i864/i693/g325).

So I am supposed to wait for the package to be sent back here it seems :-/

That sucks. Any ideas?

Thanks a lot in advance.

Pepe Galleta.

Yes, they will return the package to you. You can either wait for them to send you packet back to you or prepare a new set and send it to the Chicago lockbox. ALL marriage-based AOS applications are to be sent to the Chicago lockbox. Sorry to say that the USCIS (mis)Information line is not always the best source of information.

Pepe Galleta,

When your visa expires is not relevant. When does your allowed stay in the USA expire? (The date should be on your I-94).

I sent it to Texas...

So you ignored the advice you got in this very thread then? Good work fella.

Let me explain..I read and confirmed that the paper was going to be sent to Texas BEFORE someone replied that I was required to send it to Chicago. I went on a trip and I did not have a chance to visit the forum again till yesterday when the package was already gone.

And....I just talked with USCIS and they confirmed me that I was right sending the package to Texas (?!?!?)

Besides, as i did not believe USCIS.....

I called the USPS office in Mesquite, TX.

USPS told me that USCIS pick up their mail at 5.30 am every day and then they process everything. So MAYBE if I sent it to the wrong place....I can get my package back again here in Charlotte in a couple of days. If not, that means that USCIS does not pick up my AOS. And if that happens, I will get my package back in 15 days.

I did not ignore the advice. I unfortunatelly got it just after the package was sent :-/ That sucks. The USCIS Call center does not help really much.

Thanks a lot for your help.
