I have done searches on this question and read all the info but I'm still not sure what to do in my case.

I have the DS-3025 copy given to me at my medical and it has the MMR, Td, and Flu vaccinations given to me on that date 21/11/16. I was vaccinated as a child for MMR but my records were lost (thanks NHS) so I had them give me another. I was approved for my K-1 in Jan 2017 and before I traveled to the US in April 2017 I went to my local Boots and had another MMR and Td as I believed I needed 3 MMR and 2 Td/Tdap. I am now in the US and we have married, 26/04/17, but I am uncertain whether I need a third MMR or to see a civil surgeon before filing my AOS.

The DS-3025 does not have either of the US vaccination requirements COMPLETE or US vaccination requirements NOT COMPLETE boxes ticked but in the remarks section on the next page the doctor put "This K-non immigrant applicant did receive the required vaccines and the US vaccination requirements are complete for this applicant"

So do I need a third MMR? Do I need to see a civil surgeon? The pharmacist who gave me the second shots didn't want to write anything on the DS-3025 but gave a me a certificate for the MMR and Td shots she gave me, Do I send that with my AOS?

Any advice would be appreciated

Thanks

I only had the one MMR shortly before my medical and had no issues during AOS, that said the London vaccination sheet seems to be a confusing thing for the bods processing it to get to grips with and some people with the full set of vaccinations have RFE for a newly signed vaccination sheet...

Everything crossed for a smooth and stress free journey

Required vaccinations:

Td or Tdap - Tetanus/diptheria/pertussis or get DT, DTP or DtaP and it will be accepted for AOS also. The latest shot must be no longer than 10 years ago or you need a booster. If you have a record of receiving pertussis, then the Td is okay for the booster.

  • MMR - (if born in 1957 or later)-Mumps/measles/rubella. It's two doses in your life, but if you get the first dose, and 4 weeks haven't passed by your medical, they will waive the second dose for "insufficient time interval". If you only had one dose as a child, get a second one before the medical.
  • Varicella - Not routinely given in the UK . A history of having chickenpox excuses you from the shot. They take your word for it at the visa medical exam.
  • Influenza – Required during flu season only, October 1 through March 31. This was a new recommendation dated November 2010 for all ages over 6 months. Older lists will say flu shots for over age 50. It changed. The list on the London embassy website is out of date since 2009. Don’t follow it.

You do not need three MMR. You don't need multiple Td within the space of ten years. If you got a Td at Knightsbridge, save your poor arm from experiencing another one so soon. You don't need to continue to inject yourself with things you don't need unless you like being jabbed constantly.. :P If you have no proof of having your first MMR shot as a kid, that's fine. They gave you a second one, correct? The MMR has to have some spacing of many weeks, so you get a waiver for the second dose for not enough time elapsed which is perfectly fine.

As for the checkbox, Knightsbridge never checks the checkbox. They do however give you language on the page as you've mentioned "This K-non immigrant applicant did receive the required vaccines and the US vaccination requirements are complete for this applicant". They never used to do that, which led to issues for some. If you believe you have all the required above, and it's filled out correctly, and it has the language saying complete - make a photocopy of the DS3025 pages and send this in with your AOS application. Generally so long as you send it in within a year nothing else will be required. It is no guarantee you will not receive an RFE for vaccination transcription (because an officer is confused or doesn't understand the rules or paperwork goes missing), but it is best to cross that bridge if you ever come to it. If you should receive an RFE for vaccination transcription, that is usually easy to rectify, provided you can find a US Civil surgeon to transcribe it without fuss. Again sounds like you're done and good for now.

If you truly missed something in your vaccinations, then yes you can see a pharmacist, and then bring your proof of receiving them to a US civil surgeon to recertify all vaccinations on a form called I-693. You cannot have anyone alter the DS3025 at this point (it's a document for Knightsbridge to touch).. but that doesn't matter as it sounds like the DS3025 is just fine.

Thanks guys

This seems to be the issue at hand "because an officer is confused or doesn't understand", it depends on who reviews the forms.

I'll make my AOS applications and if I get an RFE then I'll go to the civil surgeon and get what I need.

Fingers crossed

Exactly what I was going to suggest. Good plan. You are immunized all you need, but can still get an officer who doesn't get it. Knightsbridge will not mark complete on a non-immigrant visa because their revised instructions for the new DS-3025 say leave it blank if not an immigrant visa. But they wrote that note to say you were complete. Use that as your arguing point if you get an RFE.

It breaks down in 3 options.

- Sounds like the form was filled out completely but just not marked correctly. That means you are now at the mercy of the officer. If they decide to accept the form as is, since the intent by the physician is clear, your good. If they decide the form was not filled out correctly, its of to step 2.

- get the I-693 signed with the vaccine record, find a physician that is willing to look at your records and sign the I-693 without the whole medical If you can find one get that done and sent it in. if not step 3.

- Get a new medical done and sent in the I-693.

You can start at any of the 3 steps and take your changes, It is up to you. The worse thing that can happen is that you get a RFE and have to take the medical again. Only thing you will have lost is time. If you find time more important than money or like to "buy" piece of mind start at step 2 or even 3.

Personally I would go with the form as is.
